Marvin Joseph Longuski November 27, 1941 - November 21, 2007 PECK - Marvin J. Longuski, 65, of Peck, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Port Huron Hospital after a battle with a short illness. Marvin was born in Ubly on November 27, 1941 to the late Leo and Victoria (Warchuck) Longuski. He married Mary Anna Schefka on June 25, 1966 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Marvin was an Ubly High School graduate. He attended Michigan State University and received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Science. He continued his education throughout his career. Marvin was a resident of Peck for 41 years. He was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Peck where he was an usher. Marvin was a fireman and school board member for Peck for 25 years. He was present Mayor of Peck. He was a member of the village council for over 30 years. Marvin taught at the Peck High School from 1964 to 1968 and was principal from 1969 to 1973. He was a professor at St. Clair Community College for 32 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3701 of Newberry, Michigan. He was a member of the Sanilac County ISD. Marvin enjoyed happy times at his cabin in Newberry with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, woodworking, and traveling on cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Marvin is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Anna of Peck; three children, Andrew Longuski and his wife, Kelly, of Midland, Eric Longuski and his wife, Tammy, of China Twp., Vicki VanConant and her husband, Jason, of Rosebush; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Longuski, Joshua and Bradley VanConant, Nathan and Sarah Longuski; two brothers, Lawrence Longuski and Jerome Longuski and his wife, Arlene, both of Ubly; two sisters, Beatrice Rutkowski of Carleton and Gertrude Pawlowski Fudala and her husband, Chester, of Troy; and one sister- in-law, Mary Jane Longuski of Ubly. Marvin was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Longuski; three in-laws, James Pawlowski, Marshall Rutkowski and Florence Longuski. The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Sandusky. The Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Peck. Visitation will be at the Hacker Funeral Home of Sandusky on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday 2-8 p.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. There will be a Rosary on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
