Died August 28, 1908 Arthur Graphic----Obituary Reverend M. H. Moody was born in Lincolnshire, England, January 8, 1839. Died at his home near Deckerville, Michigan, August 28, 1908. At the age of fourteen he came to this country with some friends who were coming over, and settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan and soon afterward began his preparation for the ministry. At the age of 21 he was licensed to preach by the Canaian Methodist Episcopal conference, and served the church there until 1866, whe he cam to Illinois and joined the Illinois conference, serving charges at loda, lovington and Mackville (Atwood). He then retired from the active ministry on account of his health and engaged in farming, but still acting as local preacher, in whic he continued until his death. He was twice married. To the first union were born four children, as follows: Mrs. William hunt, Sarnia, Ontario, Mrs. Oliver howell, Mrs. Johm McDonald and John E. Moody all of Arthur, Illinois. To the second union were born three children, who with their mother survive. A faithful Christian soldier has passed into the presence of the king. dz
