Mrs. Eleanor B. Partaka, 82, of Palms passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 
the Port Huron Hospital.
Eleanor was born on March 28, 1925 in Paris Township to the late Frank and Mary 
(Kantwok) Pionk.

She married Gerald Partaka on Oct. 20, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in 
Parisville. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1991.

Eleanor farmed with her husband in the Palms area from 1946-1985. She was a 
former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palms. She enjoyed canning, 
flowers and gardening.

Eleanor is survived by one son, Gary Partaka Sr. of Ubly; seven grandchildren, 
Bonnie Partaka of Sandusky, Melissa Partaka and her fiancé, Robert McKernan, of 
Applegate, Gregory (Amy) Partaka of Garden City, Gary Partaka Jr. of Ubly, 
Kevin Partaka of Ubly, Michael Partaka of Bad Axe, Christopher "Casey" Partaka 
of Bad Axe; four great-grandchildren, Marsha Merriman, Michelle Merriman, 
Jessica Partaka, Andrew Partaka; two brothers, Cass Pionk and his wife, 
Dorothy, of Arizona, Roman Pionk and his wife, Audrey of Parisville.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Partaka; seven brothers, Leo, 
Peter, Julius, Frank, Adam, Alexander and Chester Pionk; four sisters, Laura 
Peruski, Agnes Grifka, Julia Gornowicz, Marie Pionk.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic 
Church in Parisville. The Rev. Jerzy Dobosz, pastor, will officiate. Cremation 
will take place after the funeral mass.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Smigielski Funeral Home on 
Cass Avenue in Minden City and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. 
There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. 
Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
