Pionk, 74, of Royal Oak, formerly of Minden City, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Arnold was born Dec. 16, 1936 in Minden City, the son of the late Peter and Anna (Fisher) Pionk. Mr. Pionk was a 1954 graduate of Ubly High School. He moved to Detroit area and was a tool and die worker. He first worked at proto type companies for General Motors and the Chrysler Jefferson Huber Plant. Arnold enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, dancing and attending race horse events. He is survived by one son, David Pionk of Alabama; two daughters, Lori Atkins and her husband Christopher of Westland, Cheryl Bocian of Canton; daughter-in- law, Regina Pionk of Taylor; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Vrana of Warren and Cheryl Ventigmelia and her husband Mario of California. He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Pionk, special friend, Stella and brother, Robert Pionk. Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Zinger- Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery of Parisville in the spring. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.
