Muriel Lynn (Terwilliger) Roth
January 5, 1959 – September 16, 2009
Muriel Lynn Roth, 50, of Port Ewen, New York, passed away Wednesday, September 
16, 2009 at the Westchester Medical Cento: of New York.  She was born in 
Kingston, NY on January 5, 1959, daughter of the late Frank and Muriel 
(Castillo) Terwilliger.  She married Daniel A. Roth on April 16, 19S8 at St. 
Peter Catholic Church in Kingston, NY.   Muriel was formerly of the town of 
Ulster, NY and lived in Port Ewen, NY for the past six years.  She was a 1977 
graduate of the Kingston High School in New York.  She was a Customer Service 
Representative at the Hudson Valley Mall for the past two years.  Muriel 
previously worked at the family business, Cider Barrel in Ulster, NY and later 
at the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY.  She was also employed at the Mid 
Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and Fleet Bank of America Tax Services in 
Ulster, NY for several years.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in 
Kingston, NY as well as River of Life International.   She enjoyed stock car 
racing in Accord and playing bingo at St Joseph’s Church.  She also enjoyed 
playing cards and other games with family and friends.  She enjoyed attending 
many of her husband’s, sporting events and was the team’s biggest fan.  Muriel 
was a very loving person and had many friends.  Many hearts were broken when 
Muriel lost her battle with cancer and left us for an eternal life with God.  

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Daniel A Roth; two sisters, Jill 
Vankleek and her husband. Cliff of Hudson Falls, NY, Gayle Terwilliger and her 
husband, Dominic of Saugerties, NY; mother-in-law, Edna Roth of Palms; one 
uncle, Floyd Terwilliger of West Hurley, NY; her in-laws, Louise and Ray Weber 
of Minden City, Julie and Jim Schwartz of Lakewood, CO., Rhonda and Gary Lang of 
Littleton, CO., Les & Margo Roth, Jim & Vicki Roth, and Phil and Ellen Roth, all 
of Bad Axe, Elizabeth and Barry Segal of Denver, CO., Joe and Carol Roth of 
Minden City, Marty and Adrienne Roth of Greeley, CO., Chris Roth and Greg Roth, 
both of Denver, CO., and John Roth of Port Sanilac; many nieces and nephews in 
NY, CO and MI and her beloved Missy. 

The funeral Mass was Wednesday, September 23 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in 
Palms.  Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the Sts. Peter & 
Paul Catholic Cemetery in Ruth, MI.  Memorials are requested to the American 
Cancer Society, 95 Schwenk Dr., Kingston, NY 12401, or as a more personal gift. 
donating platelets or a pint of blood.  Arrangements were made by the Smigielski 
Funeral Home of Minden City.  Published Minden City Herald Thursday September
