James Lee Stolicker
April 14, 1948 - February 5, 2007
James L. Stolicker, age 58, of Deckerville, died unexpectedly Monday, February 
5, 2007 in Deckerville Hospital.  He was born April 14, 1948 the son of the late 
Lloyd and Margaret (Marks) Stolicker.  He married Audrey Salowitz on November 
28, 1966 in Port Sanilac.  Jim worked construction until 1988 when the Village 
of Deckerville DPW employed him.  He was currently the Village Supervisor.  In 
addition, to his duties at the Village, he also served on the Deckerville EMS, 
volunteer fire department and Library Board.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, 
camping, canoeing and he especially liked going to his cabin in Grayling.  He 
also enjoyed playing sports, cards and his family and friends.  He mostly 
enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball.  Jim is survived by his wife, 
Audrey of Deckerville; two sons, Jamie (Annette) Stolicker of Palms and Lance 
(Stefanie) Stolicker of Deckerville; grandchildren, Derek, Dana, Gus and Willie; 
one sister, Audrey (Wayne) Detgen of Millington; also several nieces and 
nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Titus and Gertrude Salowitz of 
Palms.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene (Shirley) Stolicker of 
Marlette in June, 2006.   

Funeral services to celebrate the life of James L. Stolicker were held Thursday, 
February 8, 2007 in the Apsey Funeral Home, “Your Legacy of Life” Funeral Hom. e 
Pastor Andrew Willis and Mr. David Salowitz officiated.  Burial was in the 
Downing Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Wilson Park Development, 
Deckerville Community Library or the James Stolicker Scholarship Fund.
