While he has not been strong for some years he was confined to the house but a few days. Mr. Sample came to this part of the state when a young man, taking up the land where he has since lived from the government some 70 years ago. The deed has never been transferred and the title is just as he received it from Uncle Sam. His wife died some fifteen years ago since which time he has lived with his son. Four daughters and two sons survive him, Mesdames George Welsh, S.J. Marsaw, Wm H. Kinney and A.R. Martin, with Gilbert and Albert Sample. The funeral was held from the Baptist church in this city yesterday afternoon, Rev. McFarlane officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Croswell cemetery. Not in obituary was a twin brother of Gilbert who died young. The group picture has William Sample and his son Gilbert, George Sample and Elmer his son but everyone else is unknown. It is in the Wixam Family Supplement by Ruth Widdison dz
