Manistique, Michigan Pioneer Tribune Oct. 1908
George Wharfield Dead

Mr. George Wharfield died of cancer in Detroit yesterday.  The remains will be 
brought to this city for burial, and the funeral will be held from the home of 
C.E. Hughson, east Oak street Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Scott 
officiating.  He was born in Wayne County April 22, 1851, and at one time was 
resident of this city.  For many years he was engaged in business at 
Logansport Inc.  He leaves two sons, Jesse and Allen, and a daughter, Mrs. 
John Larion, also two brothers, James and Frank, all of this city.
