Jan. 1 Peter Clark ate New Years dinner with us. Revival meetings began at the new Haven W.M. Haven Church. Rev.Presual from Indiana assisted. Thur. Jan. 3 Maria wife of Peter Dumond and mother of Mertie Getchell died. Fri. Jan. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Malory and two little girls were my guest all day. Son Fred was home for a few days. Warm like spring. Sun. Jan. 6 Lovly day. Large congregation at church. Rev. Presnal, preached a grand spiritual sermon. Mon. Jan. 7 Husband took Fred back to Corunna Rained very hard, and thundered and lightened. Willie went to Henderson with the milk. Wen. Jan 9 Our 48th missionary meeting held at the home of Mrs. Harry Smith. Quilting was the order of the day. Very cold. Thur. Jan. 10 Nora, wife of John Buekley was buried, very rough roads and a terrible hard cold wind all day. Sat. Jan. 12 Mr. Ed. Beamish was our guest to supper. He and husband went to meeting in the evening. Sun. Jan. 13 Rev. Presnal gave us a stiring sermon both morning and evening. One claimed to sanctified at the altar service. Wen. Jan. 15 Husband and I attended the day meeting. Rev. Presnal explained baptism. The 17th we agan went to the day meeting. Gods love to us and how we ought to love him was presented to us. I went in the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Herm? Sat. Jan. 18 I attended the day meeting, we received some grand scripturel teaching from Rev. Presnal. We went in the evening. Sun. Jan. 20 We were visited with a hard and very cold snow blizzard all day. We did not go to church. Rev. Keys and Persnal started meetings at night at the Hazelton church. Wen. Jan. 23 Clear and very cold. Husband went to Henderson with the milk. Fri. Jan. 25 Rev. Keys gave us a call. Willie went with the milk. Insurrection of the workers of iniquity: Who whet their toungue like…. Sun. Jan. 27 Very cold and clear. No preaching at the New Haven Church. As they were reveval services at the East W.M. Church. Wen. Jan. 30 George Galloway and Miss Belle Hopson were joined in Wed-lock at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Hopson. Rev. C.M. Keys officiated. Nice day of Sun-shine Feb. 3 Rev. Keys, preached from the words: Listen diligently unto the Lord. Very cold day. But the son of rightousness shone upon us and happyfied our hearts. Wen. Feb. 6 Mrs. Edgar, the aged mother of the murdered Ed. Edgar died. Thur. Feb. 7 Mrs. and Mr. Will Malory, Maudie and Helen and my self spent the day at the home of R. Chipperfield. Grandma Chipperfield was feeling well but could not walk. Fri. Feb. 8 Husband and Sarah went to see Mr. Wm. Gray. He as very ill of consumption. The 9th sister Hannah and Reggie were our guest all day. Willie and Sarah was to supper. Sun. Feb. 10 Our evening services at the church were taken up on account of revival meetings at the Free Church conducted by an Indiana preacher, his wife and daughter. Wen. Feb. 13 Mrs. Lucinda Butcher entertained our 49th missionary meeting. We quilted one quilt, sewed a large quanity of carpet rags and made two stocking bags. It was a lovly warm day. When we came home the roads were sloppy. Sun. Feb. 15 Husband and I visited at Will Malory’s sister Olive was their guest. On our way home we called to see Mr. Gray. He was very low, but happy in the Lord. Sun. Feb. 17 Rev. Keys preached from these words: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of min, and doeth them I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. Math. 7:24 A beautiful warm day. Mon. Feb. 18 Mrs. Sarah Desbrough and I drove over to see Mr. Gray. He was very weak but, happy in the saviour who had so wonderfully redeemed him and set him free. The righteous shall be glad in the lord Tues. Feb. 19 Mr. Gray passed away to his eternal rest. Husband and I were called to the bed-side of Mr. Daniel Young. We staid with him all night. He passed to his sweet rest as he would term it at eight o’clock in the morning. Feb. the 20th. Fri. Feb. 22 The funeral of Mr. Wm. Gray took place at the M.E. Church in Venis. Rev. Keys officiated. Willie and Sarah attended the funeral. Sat, Feb. 23 The funeral of Mr. Daniel Young was held at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. Keys officiating. Sat. Feb. 24 Large congregation at church. Grand meetings. Quite cold with snow flurries. Tues. Feb. 26 I drove over to Easton. Got twenty-one cents for eggs. I called on Mrs. Lesley Hopson and Mrs. Herbert Underwood. A Merry chat was enjoyed and a beautiful warm day. Sun. Mar. 3 Cold and blustery in the forenoon. Clear in afternoon. Tues. Mar. 5 Husband and Willie went to Carl Smith’s auction. A very windy day with very hard snow flurries. Thur. Mar. 7 Husband and I were the guest of Rev. S.J. Young, and family. We enjoyed our visit very much, and also with his mother who was nearly eighty years old. Sun. Mar. 10 Rev. S.J. Young filled our pulpit in the morning as Rev. Keys was officiating at the funeral of Wm. Austin’s father of Mrs. Allie Pratt. A beautiful day of sun-shine. Thur. Mar. 14 Husband, Willie and Sarah, attended Mrs. Nora Grays auction. Mrs. Henry Barnett was my afternoon guest. Sun. Mar. 16-17 Our third quartly meeting convened at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. L.H Watrous, gave us the bread of life. Although the roads were very muddy. Mon. Mar. 18, 20, 22 It was necessary to have two teams on the milk wagon. Heb: 12.c.12v. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down Sun. April 21 Good congregation at church. Grand class-meeting. Tues. April 23 Husband and I ate dinner with Willie and Sarah. It was her twenty-first birth-day. Thur. April 25 Alexander Johnson the colored barber of Owosso, passed away after an illness of one week. Mr. Johnson had the Reputation of being the whitest, colored person, who ever lived in Owosso. He merited the name not because he was light in color, for a blacker Negro was scarcely to be found, but because he was square, honest, and as upright as any white man in the city. He was seventy years old, Leaves a widow and was a member of the Baptist church. Sun. April 28 Rev. Keys, preached from the words: Watch unto prayer. Good congregation, beautiful day of sun-shine. A thunder shower in the evening rained hard all night. Tues. April 30 The ground was covered with snow. Fri. May 3 Warm until night then grew cold and snowed during the night. May the 4th we rose to find the ground covered with snow. Cold wind all day. Sun. May 5 Husband went to church. Warm Sun-shine but cold winds. Mon. May 6 I drove to Owosso, put my horse in the feed-barn, took the trolly car went over to Corunna, called to the store where son Fred was employed went with him to his boarding place and had dinner. Wen. May 8 Irene Fitzpatrick called and brought me a nice mess of fresh fish. Husband, Willie and Sarah went to Owosso. Thur. May 9 Sarah and I attended the funeral of Arthur McGuir’s baby girl, held at the W.M. Church. It died at Byron Smiths Sun. May 12 Son Fred and Miss Luella Setzer from Corunna were our guest to supper, also son Willie and wife. The feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet Wen. May 15 Our 51st missionary meeting was entertained at the parsonage by Mrs. Mary Keys. The Hazelton society met with us. Sewing carpet rags was the order of the day. Sun. May 19 Husband and I attended the funeral of Mrs. John Gallagher, held at the Free Methodist Church on state road. Rev. Corcran officiated. After services we took dinner with R. Chipperfield and family. Fri. May 24 Lovly warm day of sun-shine, 25th cold and rainy Sun. May 26 At eleven p.m. we had a very hard storm of thunder, rain, hail and wind. Mr. John Badgley was buried Funeral at the Easton Disciple church. Mon. May 27 Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield were afternoon callers, the 28th Mr. H Barnett and little Elmo White called. Fri. May 31 President Roosevelt visited Lansing and also the College farm. Sun. June 1-2 Our last quartly meeting for the conference year was held at the Hazelton W.M. Church. Rev. S.A. Manwell preached some grand sermons. Husband and I took dinner with Mr. and Mrs. James Butcher. Wen. June 5 Husband and Willie went to Mrs. James Small’s barn raising. A strong cold wind prevailed all day. Fri. June 7 I drove to Owosso, and purchased Sarah and I each a new dress. The day was fine. Mrs. Hattie White and her friend Miss McCure were evening callers. Sun. June 9 Rev. Keys preached from the textL do not weary in well doing. It was a very warm day. Wen. June 12 Our 52nd missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Hiram Bussell, we tied off a comfortable, finished up several wall bags, and pieced a number of blocks. For a quilt. Sat. June 15 Miss Ruth Young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.J. Young was a pleasant caller in the afternoon. That which is lame be turned out of the way Sun. June 16 Rev. Keys gave us a grand sermon and a grand class-meeting followed. In the evening he preached from the words: He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his life the ring shall be his friend. Prov. 22:11 Wen. June 19 Husband and I attended graduating exercises of five pupils of the Underwood School held at the New Haven W.M. Church. George E. Pardee of Owosso, addressed the class on education and suficientcy. Floyd Walworth Teaches. Fri. June 21 Miss Anna Chipperfield was my guest all day. After supper I enjoyed an evening ride by taking her home. Sun. June 23 Was very hot. Only a few at church. Son Fred of Corunna was our guest to dinner. He drove out a livery rig. Thur. June 27 Mrs. Chas. White was a pleasant evening caller. Sat. June 29 Mrs. Hopson mother of Isaac Smith took her departure for her heavenly home, after a long illness. Sun. June 30 Husband and I attended church. Good sermon, good class-meeting and a lovly day. Mon. July 1 Daughter Sarah drove with me to Owosso; we took dinner with sister Olive Where I remained until July 3th, when Olive and I took the train at Corunna for Port Huron, arrived there at 5:p.m. Sister Ella Corey met us at the rain and by street-car, escorted us down town to the home of sister Hattie Derrant where a sumptuous dinner awaited us. My niece Mrs. Alida Cory, and Miss Edith and Elsie More, played the Organ and sang a number of selections for us in the evening. Thur. July 4 Sister Hattie, her son Ollie and wife, Sister Ella her daughter Alida, sister Olive and myself ate dinner and supper with Hattie daughter, Mrs. George Montgomery in the evening we all sat on sister Hatties porch and enjoyed a fine display of fire-works. It was a lovly evening. Fri. July 5 We all took dinner with Mrs. Montgomery and in the afternoon enjoyed a trolly ride up to lake-side Park and gathered pretty stones out of Lake Huron. We returned to sister Hattie’s for supper, and in the evening her son Henry and wife came over with their graphaphone and played a number selections. Sat. July 6 Sister Hattie and I went down town on the car. Had a dish of ice-cream, did some shoping and returned home. Sun. July 7 We remained home all day and rested. Also Monday. Tues. July 9 Sister Hattie, Ella, Olive and self enjoyed a car ride up to South Beach Park. Saw the animals, came back, transferred to another car and went out to KeeWah-don Park? There some of the cottagers were having a picnic. We say the Rolly coaster take party after party around the coaster. We went down to the lake and saw some in bathing and some boat riding. We came back, treated ourselves to ice-cream, candy and peanuts. Returned home to Hattie’s at 7 pm. A tired set of humanity, had a lunch and went to bed. Wen. July 10 Hattie, Olive and I took the car and went over to sister Ella’s and visited all day. Hattie returned home for supper, Olive and I remained until Friday when Ella went with us back to Hatties. Sat. July 13 We all went down town in the morning and saw a large show parade, went to Mrs. Montgomery’s to dinner, and after dinner we all went boat-riding over to Sarnia, Canada. Returned home had supper to Hattie’s. Sun. July 14 We staid at Hatties all day and rested. In the evening Mr. More and wife came over. We enjoyed a fine evening out on the lawn. Mrs. Montgomery and baby was over. Mon. July 15 Sister Olive and I took our departure for home. Hattie and Ella accompanied us to the Tunnel Depot. Tues. July 16 I visited my niece Mrs. Lillie Way. Remained there until next day evening when I came back to sister Olivia and staied all week with her. Man shall see the Lord. 3:10 of 2. Peter: Thur. July 18 Sister Olive, Mrs. Way and self, drove out to my home where, we found husband, son Willie and wife busy. Sun. July 21 Husband and I went to church in the morning. We intended to go to the roll-call meeting at three O’clock, but, was hindered from going by the rain. Fri. July 26 We entertained son Willie and wife to a birth-day dinner, it was Willies twentieth birth-day. Sat. July 27 I drove to Owosso, boarded the trolly-car went over to middle-town and had dinner with sister Olive. Sun. July 28 Husband went to church, I remained at home. Wen. July 31 William Potter and Miss Hattie Angus, were married at Owosso, in the presence of the public at the home-coming which was in session at that time. Thur. Aug. 1 We were visited with a terrible storm of wind, rain and hail, Although it did not injure our crops. It did bad work north of us. Cutting crops to pieces. Sun. Aug. 4 Husband and I attended the morning services. We enjoyed a good sermon, large congregation. Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield called in the afternoon. Wen. Aug. 7 Mrs. Mark Lamungon? President of our missionary society entertained our 53th meeting. A large crowd to dinner, from which we took in over six dollars cash. Very warm in the evening. Husband, Willie and I were invited down to Mr.Charley Whites to eat ice cream. Albert Conklin, wife and three children were also their guest. Sun. Aug. 11 Votes were taken as to who would kept in the church or who would not be retained on the class-book. Wen. Aug. 14 Miss Belle Thomas and Mrs. Jessie C_?lton and little son Merl were our guest to dinner. Mrs. Wm. Malory and two little girls were callers in the evening. Lord will come as a thief in the night: Sun. Aug. 18 Rev. S. J. Young filled the appointments for Rev. Keys, as he was away attending conference and camp-meeting. Tues. Aug. 20 Mrs. Keys gave me a pleasant call in the afternoon. Mrs. Chas. White was an evening caller. Wen. Aug. 21 Husband and I attended the Prohibition Alliance and Temperance gathering at Corunna Park. The program consisted of addresses, songs and rescitations, a badket dinner was enjoyed, Son Fred ate dinner with us. Sun. Aug. 25 Rev. S. J. Young agan filled the circuit appointments, He spoke from the words: To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Tues. Aug. 27 Husband and I attended the Sunday School Convention which convened at the new Haven Free Methodist Church. A number of questions were benifieially discussed. Wen. Aug. 28 Mrs. S. J. Young and I attended the Hazelton missionary meeting entertained at the home of Mrs. John Beamish. We cut and pieced quilt blocks. Miss Maud Grey, gave us a fine rescitation. Sat. Aug. 31 A telephone call came for Sarah to come quick! Her sister Media was very sick. Sarah was helping Mrs. C. White get supper for the grain thrashers. I hastened to Sarah with the message and she left immediately. Sun. Sept. 1 Husband and I remained home all day. It was very hot, and thunder showers seemed to be the order of the day. Mon. Sept. We had the grain thrashers for breakfast and dinner. Son Fred came home from Corunna and spent part of his two weeks vacation with us. Thurs. Sept 5 Fred, his Pa and I ate dinner with Willie and Sarah. Fri. Sept. 6 Husband took Fred to Henderson, where he took the train for Owosso, returning as he was intending to spend a part of his vacation at St. Johns, Michigan. Heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements… Sun. Sept. 8 Was very pleasant until evening when we had a thunder shower and turned very cold. Wen. Sept. 11 Our 54th missionary meeting convened at the home of Mrs. Charles Hermon. A good attendance reported dispite the cold showers that prevailed. Husband and I went to Owosso, and I had three teeth drawn. Thur. Sept 12 Just supper time and to our surprise, son Rolla and wife drove in the yard, from Floyd, Michigan, Midland County. They were our guest three days. That evening Mr. and Mrs. D Pratt, son Willie and wife were our guest during the evening. Sat. Sept. 14 Daughter bertha and I called on grandma Young, widow of the late Daniel Young, foud her quite active for one that had passed her 80th year. Sun. Sept. 15 Husband attended church in the morning. R. Chipperfield and wife called in the afternoon. Son Fred and Dr. More of Corunna were our guest to supper. Mon. Sept. 16 Rolla and Bertha left for their home up north. Wen. Sept. 18 Maud Little youngest daughter of Mrs. Marion Little of Owosso and Edwin Spitler was united in marrage to miss? Sun. Sept. 22 Husband and I attended quartly meeting at Hazelton held at the W.M. Church. Rev. S. J. Young did the preaching. We enjoyed a fine dinner at the home of e. Beamish. Mon. Sept. 23 Rev. and Mrs. Keys were afternoon callers. We engaged in a season of prayer then, they went on their way to make more calls. A lovly day. Thur. Sept. 26 I drove over to the state road with Sarah so she could go to her mothers: drove from there to Owosso, picked up a young lady on the street drove to the Ann Arbor depot with her to save her carrying a large suitcase, drove back to the feed barn fed my horse, purchased a bushel of peaches, and drove home. Sun. Sept. 29 Husband and I staid home all day. It had been raining two days and the roads were very muddy. Dark cloudy day. Tues. Oct. 1 Willie, Sarah and I went to the Alliance meeting in the evening held at the New Haven Wesleyan Church. Sat. Oct. 5 Husband and I attended the conference of the Diciple Church held at Easton. It was a very nice day. Sun. Oct. 6 S. J. Young filled the appointments in the absence of C.M Keys. He gave us a very spiritual sermon. Son Fred was out from town. He and John Keys ate dinner with us. Wen. Oct. 9 Mrs. Levi Cram entertained our 55th missionary meeting. We tied off two comfortables and did some patch work. Cold gloomy day. Sun. Oct. 13 S. J. Young again filled the appointments in the absence of C.M. Keys. We were favored with a fine fall day. Mon. Oct. 14 Willie went off to the factory with our first load of sugar beets. Sat. Oct. 19 Miss Irene Fitzpatrick and Miss Laura Baldwin, were pleasant callers in the afternoon. Sun. Oct. 20 Rev. Keys was home and filled his appointments. It rained and snowed in the morning which made the road very muddy, and unpleasant. Thurs. Oct. 24 S. J Young and his mother were callers. The old lady though past eighty was real smart. Lovly day. Sun. Oct. 27 Prayer meeting for morning services as Rev. Keys was called away to preach a funeral sermon. Tues. Oct. 29 Mrs. Emery Pearsall and Mrs. Wm. Gray were pleasant callers in the afternoon. It was a very fine day. Wen. Oct. 30 Sarah and I drove to Owosso, we each perchased a new hat and I a new dress skirt. Another fine day. Willie went up with a load of sugar beets. Sun. Nov. 3 Rev. Keys, preached from the words: Go your way eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for who nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our lord. Wen. Nov. 6 Husband and I spent the day with R. Chipperfield and family. Was dark and showy. Roads very muddy. Sun. Nov. 10 Rev. Keys, preached from the words: If ye love me keep my commandments. The day was like spring. Wen. Nov. 13 Miss Belle Thomas was united in marriage with Mr. James North at the home of her sister Mrs. W.C. Way. They took the evening train for Shortsvill, New York to spend their honey-moon. Wen. Nov. 13 Mrs. Wm. Goodwill entertained our 56th missionary meeting. A very fine dinner was served, very cold wind. Sun. Nov. 17 Was a lovly day. In the afternoon son Fred drove out from Corunna and brought with him Miss Pearl Welton, remained until evening they returned. Wen. Nov. 20 Regular old easterly rain and strong wind, Willie came home from town in it with team and wagon. Sun. Nov. 24 Rev. Keys took for his text: Therefore we ought to give the more ernesst heed to the things which we have heard llist at any time we should let them slip. Thur. Nov. 29 Husband and I drove to Owosso, and spent Thanksgiving niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Way. Son Fred, Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield and daughters Anna and Sadie, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thomas and daughter Erma, and two sons Albert and Elmer, were their guest also. We were served with a delicious dinner we assembled in the sitting room and enjoyed a Thanksgiving service in singing and praying. Fri. Nov. 29 I had roast ducks with dressing. Son Willie and wife ate dinner with us. Chas. White called in the afternoon. Sat. Nov. 30 Mrs. W. P. Manwell, wife of the president of our conference organized a childrens missionary bank. Snow flurries. Sun. Dec. 2 Mrs. Manwell gave us a very interesting temperance and missionary address. Snow flurries all day. Wen. Dec. 4 Willie and Sarah moved to Owosso, they located on Abbot Street in the north east part of the city. The day was nice and warm almost like spring. Willie came back home and drawed beets. Sun. Dec. 8 We did not go to church as it was rainy and muddy. Wen. Dec. 11 Sister Hannah and daughter Anna, Ella, Martha and Able Totem, Mrs. Anna Hopson and self, ate dinner with Mrs. Byron Smith. This should have been our 57th missionary meeting. Serious sickness in the neighborhood prevented. Sun. Dec. 14-15 Our second quartly-meeting was held at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. S.A. Manwill preached in his usual good way. The previous day and night we got a heavy fall of snow which detained a good many form attending. Tues. Dec. 17 Miss Gertrude Smith and John Keys were united in marriage at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Byron Smith. Rev. C.M. Keys father of the groom officiated. They left that evening on a wedding trip to Canada. Sun. Dec. 22 Husband went to church. I remained to home. Cold. Wen. Dec. 25 Fred, Willie and Sarah were our Christmas guest. Fred remained until next morning. Miss Mattie Taylor and Ray Jones were married on this day. Fri. Dec. 27 A party of sixty surprised our pastor and family by suddenly entering the parsonage and taking possession of it. After enjoying a social evening the guest departed leaving a number of nice presents. Sun. Dec. 29 Rev. Keys preached from the 91st Psalm 1 verse. Be in all holy conversation and godliness. Keys preached from the words: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the maner of some is; but exhorting one another. Lovly winter day of sun-shine. Mon. Jan. 6 I called to see Mrs. David Pratt, found her quite sick, at mid-night, Mr. Pratt came and called us up to phone for Dr. Sackrider to come, she was in great pain. Wen. Jan. 8 Our 57th missionary meeting was entertained at the parsonage by Mrs. C.M. Keys. Two comfortables ere tied off besides doing some other work. Fri. Jan. 10 I called on Mrs. Pratt again. She was some better. Mr. and Mrs. Chipperfield spent the evening with us. Sun. Jan. 12 We staid home all day. It stormed something awful all day wind and snow. Tues. Jan. 14 Husband and I went with horse and cutter to Owosso. I got .21 for butter. I bought my little grand-daughter a pretty new dress. Fri. Jan. 17 Son Willie and wife were our guest all day. Husband was 63 years old today. They gave him a pretty cup and saucer. Sun. Jan. 19 Mrs. More of Indiana gave us a grand sermon in the morning. Jan. 21 Husband, Willie and Sarah went to the revival meeting. While they were gone I was taken very sick, was sick all night. Fri. Jan. 24 Dr. Hume of Corunna came to see me and left me medicine. Husband attended church in the morning. Mr. More preached a very plain sermon. Wen. Jan. 29 Myron Tunnacliff was married to Mess Hunt. Fri. Jan. 31 Snowed all day and all night and all night the night before. A great amount of snow fell Sun. Feb. 2 Although bright sun-shine a terrible west wind prevailed all day, drifting the snow just awful, many were hindered from coming to church. Wen. Feb. 5 Snowed very hard all day. The 6th the wind blew very hard from the west and drifted the snow terribly all day. In the afternoon Rev. Keys, waded down here to get a crock of butter, through snow up to his knees. Mr. Nic. Despite the rain in the fornoon quite a crown assembled to do missionary work. Miss Ethel Cram and William Beamish were married on this day, at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Levi Cram. Sun. Feb. 16 Was a nice comfortable winter day. Husband took son Fred to his boarding-place in Corrunna. He had been home suffering from the lagripp? Mon. Feb. 17 Husband I drove over to see grandma Chipperfield. Seemingly she was unconscious of everything that was going on around her. Rev. and Mrs. Keys, called while we were there, also, Mr. Lute Pratt. Tues. Feb. 18 Son Rolla, wife and two children of Midland Co. came. They were our guest all the week. Sat. Feb. 22 Rolla, Bertha, the two children and myself were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Young nearly all day. We came home in a terrible snow-blizzard. Not know a wicked person. 103:c. 17.v. But the mercy of the Lord is Sun. Feb. 23 Husband went to church, although it was a very cold day. Monday he took Rolla to Corunna where he took the train for Ohio, to look after his property he owned there. It was a very cold day. The next day Tuesday, it rained and snowed all day. Wen. Feb. 26 Miss Ruth Crandall, and James Clark, were married. Rev. Crandall of the Free Methodist Church and cousin of the bride officiated. Snowed hard all day. Thur. Feb. 27 Daughter Sarah and her sisters Mrs. Addie Eldred and little boy were our guest to dinner. Bertha and Eva also. Fri. Feb. 28 At 3:30 p.m. Grandma Chipperfield passed from earth to her reward. Husband and I spent the evening with the Chipperfield family. Pleasant but, cold. Sat. Feb. 29 Was a very nice day. Husband and I sat up all night at the Chipperfield home. Rolla returned home. Sun Mar. 1 Was a very bad day. A storme of snow and sleet, raged nearly all day. A very dismal day indeed. Tues. Mar. 3 Grandma Chipperfield was buried. Funeral waas held at the Union Church. Rev. S. Mar. 14 Son Rolla, wife and two children came and remained several day, They were down from Midland Co. visiting. Sun. Mar. 15 The church services were held at the East Church, as Rev. Watrus? Was conducting revival meetings there. The roads were so very bad we could not go. Fri. Mar. 20 Mrs. C.M. Keys was a pleasant caller. The beet weeders moved in the white house across the way. Sun. Mar. 22 Nice spring day. Husband went to church. Bertha and Little Eva and I remained at home mud was plenty. Tues. Mar. 24 Charlie White raised his barn. Husband helped and was there to dinner. The weather was getting colder. Wen. Mar. 25 Husband took Bertha and Eva, to their new home in Owosso. Very cold wind prevailed, the ground was frozen hard in the fore noon. Thursday 26th Mrs. Byron Smith was a pleasant caller. Fri. Mar. 27 During the night we had a hard storm of thunder lightning, wind and rain. It rained something awful. Sun. Mar. 29 Husband and I attended church. Had a good sermon good meeting, and our hearts were encouraged. Wen. April 1 Cold and very hard wind all day. April 2nd froze up hard with terrible snow blizzards all day. Mrs. Byron Pearsall and Irene Fitzpatrick called. Sun. April 5 Rained nearly all day, roads terrible muddy. We were home all day. A little girl was born to my niece Mrs. Lillie Way. Wen. April 8 Our 60th missionary meeting was entertained in the home of Mrs. George Kirn. Despite the muddy roads and dark cold day a fairly good crowd came to do missionary work. Sun. April 12 Husband had the tooth-ach all day which kept us from attending church. April 21 John Morden and Mr. Brown, sheared our sheep. Son Rolla was here and tied the wool for them. April 22-23, Mr. Edd. Cheny was here and papered three rooms for me. She and I attended the Sabbath school convention in the afternoon held at the New Haven W.M. Church, son Fred, Sadie and I attended the evening session. We were favored with a beautiful moon-light night. Sun. June 7 Oliver Glen, infant son of Norman and Hattie Cram, died in the early morning. Very warm. Tues. June 9 Husband and I attended the funeral of little Glen, which was held at the home of the parents. Rev. Keys officiated. Wen. June 10 Our 62nd missionary meeting took place at the home of Mrs. Hiram Russell. We partly quilted a nice quilt. It was a lovly day. Fri. June 12 I took son Fred to Owosso. From there he went by train to St. Johns, to visit a friend and the next day he went to Flint to visit son Willie and wife. I boarded the street-car went to son Rollas, and had dinner with them. July 1 I drove over to sister Hannahs to get a jar of butter. When I returned home I found that Mr. Edd. Cheney had came, taken possession of the house and was oil-painting the kitchen. July 3 Son Fred drove to Corunna, met son Willie and wife of Flint and Miss Pearl Welton of St. Johns, at the train and brought them to our home to be our guest over the fourth. After dinner we went over to the woods to take in the Prohibition Alliance Celebration. We enjoyed a fine address given by Rev. Keene of Owosso, all had a dish of ice cream and returned home as we were visited with two hard showers which made it bad underfoot. Sun. Aug. 4 We had a terrible electric storm all the fore past of the night was a continual flash of lightning and roar of thunder. Fred, Willie and Sarah road out from Owosso during the storm. Aug. 20 Early in the morning I left camp for the depot and took the train for Owosso. It was so cold in the morning it was very chilly riding, I was the guest over night of my niece Mrs. Lillie Way. Feb. 5 Rained very hard the forefront of the night. Snowed the latter front. The 6th sun was very warm thawed bad. Sun. Feb. 7 Husband and I attended church. Large congregation four were baptized and six taken into the church. Lovly warm day, the roads were very muddy. Wen. Feb. 10 Our 70th missionary meeting was entertained at the home of Mrs. James Butcher. Though cold and stormy twenty-eight assembled to do missionary work. Thur. Feb. 11 I called on Mrs. Fred Hickmot and new baby boy, they were both doing nicely. Miss Edie Hoten of Chesaning was careing for them. Cold but fair. Sat. Feb. 13 Son Willie and wife came from Flint. They were our guest over Sunday. Sun. 14th was our twenty ninth wedding anniversary. Very cold with fierce old snow-blizards all day. Thur. Feb. 18 Willie and Sarah with team and sleighs brought their house-hold goods out from Flint to the Joe Brunson farm where they settled down as farmers. Sun. Feb. 21 Husband went to church, quite warm thawed all day, large congregation he reported. Mon. Feb. 22 A drunken Bohemian came upon our porch and pounded on the door, stomped and swore and was determined that he would not leav. Husband telephoned over to the other street for some men of his own race to come and take care of him which they did. Sat. Feb. 27 Miss Rugh Young daughter of Rev. S.J. Young, was a pleasant caller in the afternoon. Sun. Feb. 28 Husband and I attended church, Large gathering, good sermon, beautiful day. Mon. Mar. 1 Husband and I attended Fred Pearsall’s auction which took place on the John Galagher farm. Willie and Sarah came home with us and staid all night. Nice day of sun-shine. Thur. Mar. 4 Mary, wife of Hisam? Austin, passed away very suddenly, she left six children, the youngest only five hours old. Fri. Mar. 5 Husband and I attended the township Sunday-school convention, held at the Deciple Church at Easton, many good thoughts and ideas were brought out by different ones. Sun. Mar. 6-7 Our third guartly-meeting convened at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. D.T. Perrine officiated. He gave us the gospel in the spirit of the master. Fine day, muddy road. Tues. Mar. 9 Rev. H. D. Cheney and wife were our guest to dinner, remained until five o’clock, then went over to Mr. Fred Grays to a surprise as they were preparing to move on a farm near New Lothrop. Wen. Mar. 10 Husband and I attended our 71th missionary meeting, which convened at the home of Mrs. Wm. Goodwill. We tied comfortables and pieced quilt-blocks. The ground was very icy and cold wind prevailed all day. Sat. Mar. 13 Husband took Sarah to Corrunna there she took the train for Durand, went to see her sister Addie who was very low of consumtion. Was fine over head, very muddy under foot. Sun. Mar. 14 Husband went to church. Small congregation, very muddy. Fri. Mar. 19 Mrs. S.J. Young was a pleasant caller in the afternoon. Sat. Mar. 20 Addie, wife of Jude Eldred, peacefully passed away after a long illness of consumtion. Our dear one has been taken from us. From this world of toil and care; Her heavenly Father called her; She will know no sorrow threw. It is hard, indeed, to spare her, but, oh, Lord, thy will be done, and we hope to meet in heaven.When our race on earth is ran. Sun. Mar. 21 Rev. S.J. Young filled the pulpit in the absence of Rev. Cheney. Tues. Mar. 23 Husband and I attended the funeral of Mrs. Eldred, held at the Long Church in venius? Rev. Peters of Henderson, officiated. Son Willie and little Leon Eldred were with us over night. It was a lovly day of warm sun-shine. Sun. Mar. 28 Cold with snow flurries all day. Deep mud roads. I was entertaining an attact of the grippe. Mrs. Delta Hunt, only daughter of Elmer and Carrie Underwood suddenly passed away. She had been married but a short time. Wen. Mar. 31 Maudie, little daughter of Rev. Allie and Carrie, Bunnell, passed from her earthly home to her home in heaven. White and little Elmo also were callers. Son Willie came over and helped his pa, kill and dress two hogs. A very warm day. Wen. April 7 Very hard, cold wind all day with snow blizzards. It done a great deal of damage through-out the state. Sun. April 11 Was fair with strong cold wind. Husband was sick. Tues. April 13 Snowed steady and hard all day. The snow was about three inches thick on the ground. Thur. April 15 I drove to Owosso, boarded the stree-car, went over to middle-town, and ate dinner with son Rolla and family. After noon Bertha and I called on Mrs. North. Sun. April 18 Rev. S.J. Young preached to us, as Rev. and Mrs. Cheney were in Iowa, visiting their preacher son. Thur. April 22 Husband and I went over to son Willie’s on the Brunson farm, were their guest all day. Mrs. Frank Pearsall, was also their guest. Very nice day. The roads were very muddy. Sun. April 25 Was a fine day but bad roads. Not very many at church. Wen. April 28 At eight O’clock in the evening it began snowing very hard and snowed all night. Hard thunder and severe lighting. Thur. April 29 We arose in the morning to find the snow eleven inches deep on the level, and it still snowing and continued to snow until sometime in the afternoon, when it turned to rain and rained hard. The forepart of the night a fierce storm of thunder, lightning, hail and pouring rain and wind prevailed, and at a little easaer? Rate it continued all night. Fri. April 30 was very cold and ever few minutes a fierce snow blizzard. The ground was a mass of snow and water to be waded by those who were obliged to get out. Sat. May 1 Very cold and blinding snow blizzards, Sun. May 2, snow blizzards part of the day. Roads fierce. Wen. May 5 Ella Kennedy Dakin, wife of Harvy Dakin of California, passed to her reward after a long illness from cancer of the stomach. Wen. May 5 Sarah Bowhay was our guest over night. Thursday, Sarah and I visited sister Hannah and family all day. While there we had a thunder storm of rain and hail. Sun. May 9 A cold rain all day. We staid at home again all day. Tues. May 11 Husband and I attended the funeral of Mrs. Dakin which was held at the Advent Church in Middle-town. The remains were interred in Pine-tree cemetery Corunna. It was a lovly day, very ruff road. Wen. May 12 Our 72nd missionary meeting convened at the home of Mrs. Henry ? We sewed carpe rags, Very fine day. Sat. May 15 We were visited with a terrible thunder storm of rain, hail and wind, which broke window lights in several houses. Sunday May 16th only a few at church a strong cold wind and very bad roads. Thur. May 20 Mr.s Emry Pearsall of Easton, was a pleasant caller. Sarah had been helping me a few days, and she went home with her mother. Sun. May 23 Rev. S. J. Young filled the appointments for Mr. Cheney. He and Mrs. Cheney were attending the ministries association. May 26, my sister Mrs. Lessie Dudley of California arrived in Corunna at 6:30 p.m. Sat. May 29 Miss Anna Chippenfield and Miss Ruth Young were pleasant callers in the afternoon. A telephone man came and put new batteries in our phone. He ate dinner with us. Sun. May 30 Only a few attended church. A sad accident which occurred in the neighborhood accounted for it. Mrs. Belle North called in the afternoon. Mon. May 31 Son Fred writes from Cincinnati Ohio; Yesterday was decoration day. Ate my breakfast, took a bath, and then went for a walk. We waked over the large bridge one mile over into Covington, Kentucky. After we had spent what time we cared to there, we took a car back over to Cincinnati, changed cars and went out to Prince Hill which is a summer resort, and a fine one too. When we arrived at the Hill, it was like steping into a garden. Everything seemed to be in it glory. Men, woman, children, boys and girls, all having a good time. We got back to Cincinnati about 10:30, in the evening, very tired, but feeling that the day had been well spent. Tues. June 1 Son Willie was our guest in the evening, also Mrs. Chas. White. Sun. June 6 Rev.Cheney preached from the words: stand fast there fore, in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entung? Again with the yoke of bondage. A beautiful day. Wen. June 9 I drove to Middle-town took dinner at son Rolla’s , Bertha and I called at sister Olives, there we met my sister, Mrs. Belle Dudley who had recently arrived from California, whom I had not seen for six years. After a short visit with her I returned home by the way of Corunna. Lovly day. Thur. June 10 Our 73th missionary meeting was entertained at the home of Mrs. Wm. Tilfer, a fine dinner was served. Sun. June 13 Convened our last quartly meeting for the conference year. Rev. A.S. Manwell and wife were here. Wen. June 16 Afternoon I called on my new neighbor Mrs. Roy Jacobs. It was a very warm day. Sun. June 20 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Telfer of Owosso, attended our morning services. They were our guest to dinner, and remained until evening to attend the childrens exercises. Many people could not get in the church. Thur. June 24 I visited at sister Hannah’s all day. Sister Lessie was also her guest. She came to stay a year with us. Sun. June 27 Not very many at church. It was a terrible hot day. Hard thunder storm in the afternoon. Tues. June 29 Old Mr. Brown father of Adrain Brown was buried. Husband attended the funeral as pall- bearer, which was held at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. H. D. Cheney officiated. Wen. June 30 Afternoon, I drove over to Easton and from there to Mr. Stewarts in persuit of strawberries, but unfortunately found none. On my way home I called on grandma Young. Found her real active for an old lady in her eighty third year. Sat. July 3 Husband and I attended the Alliance Pic-nick in the Riley Brothers Woods, and listened to an excellent address given by Rev. C.W. Hall of Coldwater Mich. We were blessed with as fine a day as could be had. Sun. July 4 Rev. Hall gave us a fine sermon in the morning. Wen. July 7 Rev. Cheney was a pleasant caller. Also Mrs. Charles Herman and daughter Ethel. Fri. July 9 Miss Irene Fitzpatrick was our guest to supper. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jacobs were our evening guest. Sun. July 11 Sister Lessie and I remained at home while Husbandwent to church. It was a very hot day. Mon. July 12 Son Rolla came to hep husband in the haying. He was here all the week. Wen. July 14 Our 74th missionary meeting was entertained at the home of Mrs. Byron Smith. My sister Lessie was with me. Mrs. Hattie White called afternoon. Fri. July 16 Mrs. Belle North and baby Arlene, and Bertha Lemon and little Eva, of Owosso, were my guest all day. Sun. July 18 Husband went to church. Lessie and I staied at home. Fri. July 23 Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield and daughter Anna were our guest all day. Very nice after the lovly rain we had the day before. It had been so very dry. The rain was certainly a blessing. Sun. July 25, Husband and I attended church. A good meeting. Mon. July 26 Was son Willie’s birth-day. The young people had a surprise on him and gave him a nice rocker. He then lived on the Brunson farm. Thur. July 29 Son Rolla landed in the yard on his wheel just as it began to rain hard. It came as a great blessing in a time of need. Fri. July 30 Mr. and Mrs. Chipperfield and daughter Sadie were our guest all day. Son Rolla stacked the wheat for husband. Sun. Aug. Husband and I attended church. Very warm, few out. Aug. 4 very hot, hard thunder shower in the afternoon. Thur. Aug. 5 I drove to Owosso, on my return home I stopped at Mr. Freemans and purchased a half bushel of fine black-berries at eight cents per quart. Sun. Aug. 8 Rev. S.J. Young preached. Rev. Cheney was at Hastings attending the dedication of a new W.M. church there. It was a terrible hot day. Wen. Aug. 11 Our 75th missionary meeting was held at the pleasant home of Mrs. Hiram Bussell. A large crowd convened and an excellent dinner was served. Sat. Aug. 14 Husband and I attended the Apoustolic? Holliness, camp-meeting held on Guts Hill south of Owosso. Sun. Aug. 15 S.J. Young filled the pulpit again. Rev. Cheney, was away attending conference. Son Willie was our guest to dinner. Sarah was gone to Grand Rapids. Ethelwyn Lemon was our guest to supper. Sun. Aug. 15 Son Fred writes from Cincinnati Ohio, I am no longer instructor or teacher of the Moler System of Colleges, but manager of the Cincinnati College. I am getting along fine. Tues. Aug. 18 Husband and I attended a Temperance rally, at McCurdy Park Corunna. A very large crowd was in attendance and we listened to a grand talk from Judge Blair of Portmouth Ohio. Sun. Aug. 22 We attended church. S.J. Young filled the pulpit as Rev. Cheney was still absent. Rev. Keys, was with us and made some excellent remarks. Tues. Aug. 24 I attended the funeral of Ernest Pearsall. Little son of Fred and Pearl Pearsall, Rev. Demings officiated. Sun. Aug. 29 Rev. Cheney filled the pulpit. His first Sunday for the conference year. Rev. Keys and family were with us. Wen. Sept. 5 The funeral of Rena, wife of David Henion? Was held at the Free Methodist church in Owosso. The remains were laid to rest in the West Haven Cemetery. Sun. Sept. 5 Good congregation at church. Good surmon, good meeting, nice day. Son Willie and wife called. Wen. Sept 8 Our 76th missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. James Hopson Jr. On account of having the thrashers I could not attend. Will Wing did our thrashing. Very dry and dusty. Sat. Sept. 11 I called went to see Mrs. Roy Jacobs. She was very sick. Mr. Jacobs, came to our place at midnight and called the doctor by telephone. Sun. Sept. 12 I went again to see Mrs. Jacobs, found her still very ill. It was very warm and dry. Thur. Sept. 16 Rev. and Mrs. Cheney and two young ladies nieces of Mrs. Cheney were afternoon callers. Fri. Sept. 17 I drove to Owosso, put my horse in the feed barn, took the street-car and went over to son Rolla’s ate dinner with them and then called to see my sick sister Olive Thomas; found her very much better. Boarded the car, went back to Owosso, purchased me a black-silk coat and started for home. Nice warm day. Sun. Sept. 18-19 Convened our first quartly-meeting for the conference year. Rev. Mr. J. Badder and wife was with us. Husband and I on our way home from the morning services called to see Mr. John Butcher as he lay dying. For a number of years he was a faithful member of the W.M. Church. He passed away at 9:30 that evening, September 19th. Wen. Sept. 22 The funeral of father Butcher was held at the W.M. New Haven Church, Rev. H.D. Cheney officiated. A large concourse of relatives and friends paid them last tribute of respect to him. After returning home from the funeral I called on Mrs. Jacobs. She was much improved. The day was cloudy but warm. Sun. Sept. 26 Husband and I went to church. Large Congregation, and good sermon. Very cold north wind. Mon. Sept. 27 I went to see the new baby boy, and washed and dressed him. Mrs. White and baby were doing fine. Wen. Sept. 29 Daughter Bertha Lemon was our guest to supper, Mrs. Belle North called for her in the evening, and they returned to their home in Owosso. Fri. Sept. 17 Fred writes from Cincinnati, Ohio: I am real well and still getting along fine, when ever I meet one of my boys or girls or instructors they have a smile and pleasant word for me, so I am really enjoying life. Well, I must take a walk through the college and see how things are doing; then my days work will be done. It is now 4:30 p.m. so you see I do not have to work very late. And I am my own boss. Nobody over me but A.B. Moler, and he is in Chicago. Fri. Oct. 1 Daughter Sarah bowhay and Mrs. Rose? Kinsman were afternoon callers. Also Mrs. Maggie Young. Sat. Oct. 2 I again went down to Mrs. Whites and washed and dressed Herbert T. the new baby. Sun. Oct. 3 Mrs. White was twenty-three years old. Husband not feeling very well. We remained home all day. Belle North called afternoon. She had been to see her sister Beulah who was very sick. Sun. Oct. 3 Son Fred writes from Cincinati Ohio; Mr. Moler, wants me to go to New Orleans, to take charge of a school. While I now it would be a grand place to spend the winter, it would also take me one thousand miles farther from home. So I decided not to go. Will, dinner is ready and I must go. Thur. Oct. 7 Sister Olive was my guest over night and all next day. Mrs. Belle North was my guest to dinner also little Clayton Malory. Sun. Hume our old family physition, passed away at 7 o’clock in the morning after a long illness of cancer of the breast. Sun. Nov. 21 Rained hard all the forenoon. Afternoon was very pleasant. Sun. Nov. 21 Fred writes from Cincinnati. Ohio: Gypsy Smith one of the greatest preachers of the world is in the city. I heard him preach last Sunday afternoon and evening. Am going to hear him this afternoon and evening. He talked to seven thousand people last Sunday evening and hundreds were turned away. The building holds seven thousand when the seats are full. Then the doors are closed. He seems to be moving the whole city. Wen. Nov. 24 Miss Jennie Telfer daughter of Wm. Telfer, was united in marriagg with Elmer Shadbolt, also Miss Flora Altoft was united with Enus Hutchinson. Thur. Nov. 25 Husband and I ate Thanksgiving dinner with son Willie and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Pearsall, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fitzgerald, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mead, Mr. and Mrs. Burt Kingman, Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield and two daughters Anna and Sadie, were also their guests to dinner. We all did ample justice to it for the reason it was just fine. Sun. Nov. 28 The funeral of Mrs. Frank Rosa took place at the Easton Deciple Church. Rained nearly all afternoon. Sun. Nov. 21 Fred writes I have been invited over to Fannie’s house to Thanksgiving dinner. She lives at Walnut Hills. These hills are fine now. Wen. Dec. 5 Rev. Cheney and wife were our guest during the evening. We enjoyed a pleasant visit with them. Fri. Dec. 3 I visited all day at the home of my niece Mrs. Wm. Malory. Miss Anna Chipperfield being there helped to make the day a pleasant one. Sun. Dec. 5 Husband and I attended church. Rev. Cheney gave us a good sermon and a good class-meeting followed. L.D. Dec. 13 Little Mary Arlene North adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James North passed away at eight o’clock in the evening. Little Arlene had for nine month brightened the home. Also, Mrs. George Warner of West Haven passed away at noon after a long illness. Sun. Dec. 18-19 Our second quartly-meeting was held at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. U.A. Day, conference pareident preached four powerful sermons. Dispite the exstreamly cold weather the people turned out large. Tues. Dec. 21 Mr. Nick White spent the evening with us. Wen. Dec. 22 Husband and I drove to Owosso, purchased some xmas gifts and returned home. Weather had moderated. Sat. Dec. 25 Husband and I spent Christmas with R. Chipperfield and family. Their son Job and wife and two children Merton, and Helen, sister Jessie Dudly, son Willie and wife, were also their guests. We all did justis to a fine dinner. The day was moderate but snowed all day long. Sun. Dec. 26 Katie Fenner, daughter of Johnnie Butcher passed away after a long illness of consumtion. Very moderate, quite a deep snow. It was a very nice day the sun shone so warm all day. Mon. Jan. 10 Husband took sister over to sister Hannahs to visit for a while . It turned very cold. Wen. Jan. 12 Our 80th missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Harry Smith. Mrs. Jennie Ayers, was with us the mother of Rev. John Ayers who died in Africa and left a wife who had been wed but a few months. The day was very moderate. Fri. Jan. 14 Mr. North father of James North passed away at the home of Chas. Thomas in Middle-Town. Sun. Jan. 16 Evangelist Mrs. Jennie Ayers preached a good sermon. A large congregation was in attendance. Mon. Jan. 17 Husband birth-day, Ward Butcher was married to Miss Broadsick. The 19th Mr. Urban Pease of Owosso gave us a call. Sun. Jan. 23 A large assembly at church, and a splendid holiness sermon from Mrs. Ayers. Mon. Jan. 24 My birth-day. Mr. Fred Schantz father of Ira Shantz died at his home on North Street Owosso. Thur. Jan. 27 Husband and I sat up all night with grand-ma Young, she was very low. Sun. Jan. 30 My brother John of Grand Rapids was our guest, and attended church with us. After which he went home with sister Hannah and family. After we had returned home, word came that Mrs. Delia Tunnaclif? had at 9: a.m. passed from earth to her reward, A few minutes after 5: p.m. word came over the telephone that Mrs. Daniel Young had passed to her reward. I immediately went to the assistance of the family and washed and dressed grandma, then gave her into the hands of the Undertaker. Mrs. Chas. Herman came and remained all night with me. Tues. Feb. 8 Sister Lessie and Miss Anna Chippenfield were my guest to dinner. Husband took a load of wheat to Owosso, he received one dollar and eighteen c, per bushel. Wen. Feb. 9 Our 81st missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Lucinda Butcher, quilting was the order the day. Thur. Feb. 10 Husband attended Mr. Warren Doans auction while I visited at Mr. James Desbroughts. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lamberjan?, Mrs. Cook and husband were also their guest to dinner. Sun. Feb. 13 We attended church, Very cold but large congregation. Rev. Cheney gave us a temperance sermon. Mon. Feb. 14 Husband attended the burial of Allie Henion? Which took place in the West Haven Cemetary. Sun. Feb. 20 We attended church, large attendance, grand class-meeting. Very moderate day. Fri. Feb. 25 Rev. Father Spurline, a Catholic Priest of Edean Mich. Gave a lecture on local option at the New Haven in town hall (house) a large crowd attended to hear him and thought the speech a fine one. Sun. Feb. 27 The earth was covered with water, ice and snow from all nights rain the night before. Thur. Mar. 3 Husband attended the funeral of Mrs. Sylvia Bussell mother of Hiram Bussell, held at the West Haven Union Church. Rev. Poly of Owosso officiated. Sun. Mar. 6 Husband went to church a foot, roads very muddy. Mar. 9 Our 82nd missionary meeting was entertained at the parsonage by Rev. and Mrs. Cheney. As it was a lovly day, a large crowd was in attendance. We quilted on a quilt and pieced blocks for one. Fri. Mar. 11 My niece Mrs. Belle North and my sister Mrs. Lissie Dudly, were my guest over night. They so remained until five o’clock the next day when they left for Mrs. Wm. Malorys for a visit. Sun. Mar. 13 Our third quartly-meeting was held at the New Haven W.M. Church. Rev. C.M. Dursy did the preaching of Hastings Mich. Large congregation, good sermon. Wen. Mar. 16 Husband and I drove to Owosso and purchased wall-paper for my kitchen and paint for my pantry. When we returned home we found sister Lissie sitting on the porch waiting for our arrival. Fri. Mar. 18 Miss Irene and Lita Fitzpatrick were my guest in the afternoon. My grandson Ethelwyn Lemon was my guest also. He remained with us a week. Sun. Mar. 20 Was a beautiful warm day, Had our first thunder storm for the year at two o’clock in the morning and a nice rain which settled the roads. Tues. Mar. 22 Rev. George Langhton pastor of the Baptist Church of Owosso, gave us a lecture on local option at the New Haven W. M. Church. Mrs. R. Chipperfield and daughter Anna and sister Lissie were my guest in the afternoon. Thur. Mar. 24 Willie and Sarah were our evening guest. They brought their graphaphone with them and rendered some music. Sun. Mar. 27 Easter day, Mrs. C.A. Dudly and Ethelwyn Lemon were my Easter guest. Lovly warm day, good many at church. Tues. Mar. 29 Sister Olive Thomas and her daughter Belle were afternoon callers. Sister Lissie was with me. Sun. April 3 We attended church. Lovly day and large congregation Mon. April 4 Election day. Local Option prevailed and Shiawassee punity? Went by. Tues. April 5 I attended a family reunion at the home of my niece Mrs. Belle North. The guests were: Mrs. Roy Aselton and son Merle, Mr. and Mrs. R. Chipperfield and daughters Anna and Sadie, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bowhag, Mrs. Chas. Bowhay, Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Lemon and two children, Mrs. Margret Drain, Mrs. Chas. Thomas and daughter Erma, Mr. Wm. Way and two children and Mrs. C.A. Dudley. A very pleasant day and fine dinner served. Sun. April 10 Convened our 83th missionary meeting at the home of Mrs. Anna Hopson. Quilting was the order of the day which was a beautiful one Sat. April 16 James Linzie passed away after lying two days unconscious caused from a stroke of paralysis. Sun. April. 17 Rev. C.M. Keys filled the appointments as Rev. Cheney was called away to preach a funeral sermon. Tues. April 19 Husband and Sarah attended the funeral of James Linzie held at the Union Church. J.D. Young officiating. Wen. April 20 Husband and I attended the funeral of Henry Barnett held at the Union Church. Rev. J.D. Young of Henderson officiated. The day was so cold and wet, we had to wear our winter wraps. Sun. April 24 Cold and rainy all day. Only a few at Church. Thur. April 28 Rained nearly all day, 29-30, warmer rained at night. Sun. May 1 Cloudy and warm. Rev. Keys filled the pulpit, May 2 Rained hard all day. The yards and road was flooded with water. Wen. May 11 Our 84th missionary meeting was entertained at the home of Mrs. R. Chipperfield. We quilted a quilt and pieced blocks, and enjoyed a fine day. Sun. May 15 Toward evening I took sister Lissie over to Sister Hannahs. Son Rolla of Owosso, was our guest to dinner. A nice warm day. Thur. May 29 Mrs. Belle North and Mrs. Bertha Lemon of Owosso, were my guest to dinner. With them I attended the funeral of little Robert Austin, held at the Deciple Church at Easton. Rev. William Deming of Easton officiated. Fri. May 20 I drove over to sister Hannahs for a few minutes visit and say good by to sister Lissie, as she took her departure next morning enroute for her home in Pasadena, California. Sun. May 22 After morning services husband and I called on Mrs. Sarah Desbrough as she was quite low of a complication of deases. Lovly May day. Wen. May 25 Mrs. E.W. Bunting, mother of Mrs. Edd. Cheney of Henderson passed away. Sun. May 29 Large assembly at church. The services were sad on account of one of our number, Sarah Desbrough, lying very low on her bed of sickness. Mon. May 30 Decoration day, cloudy and very cold all day. Began to rain in the evening and rained all night. 31st snowed in the forenoon until the roof of the buildings were white with snow. Wen. June 1-2 Rained and continued so until the morning of the 3rd when it cleared away and was fine. Sun. June 5 Rained hard in the early morning and quietly nearly all the forenoon. Son Wm. And Bert Kinsman called. Wen. June 8 Our 85th missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Chas. Herman. We quilted a quilt for Mrs. Hannah Chipperfield. Sun. June 11-12 Our last quartly-meeting for the conference, year convened at the Hazelton W.M. Church. Rev. H.A. Day preached some excellent sermons, in the spirit of the master. Lovly day. Thur. June 16 My grandson Ethelwyn Lemon was my guest over night, Mr. Johnson of Owosso, was our guest to dinner. It was a very hot day. Sun. June 19 Husband and I after church drove over to see Sarah Desbrough. We found her in a very bad condition. Wm. Goodwill and wife were there to see her. Trus. June 21 I drove over to see Sarah and took her some green currant pie, which she had entertained the notion that she wanted. Her uncle fed her a small piece of it and it tasted so good to her, she was feeling some better and was very cheerful. From there I drove to sister Hannahs and purchased a crock of butter. Sun. June 26 We attended church. Although the day was very warm we had a large congregation and good sermon. Thur. June 30 I drove to Owosso, I met my sister and two daughter on the street, it was a very warm day. We all went in the ice-cream parlor and enjoyed eating ice-cream. It was recorded the hottest June day for thirty years. Sat. July 2 Mrs. Sarah Desbrough took her departure form this earth we trust to a better home above. She suffered much but, was always cheerful. She selected her own text for the funeral occation, also scripture, lison?, singers and preachers. Rev. W.D. Cheney and C.M. Keys. Sun. July 3 Son Fred telephoned out to us that he had arrived in Owosso, in the early morning. Willie went after him. He had been away from home nearly two years. Only remained two days with us, as his business commanded his attention. July 4th we gave him a reception. Relatives to the number of eighteen gathered at our home and spread the table with delicious viands? We were favored with a beautiful day. Tues. July 5 I attended the funeral of Mrs. Derbrough which took place in the beautiful grove in front of her residence. A very large crowd assembled to pay their last respects to her. Rev. Cheney leading speaker. Wen. July 6 Miss Ethel Brown was united in marriage with Asher Fink?, more commonly known as Doc. Fink. Sun. July 10 Husband and I attended the funeral of Mrs. Enos Morden held at the Free Methodist Church on State Rd. Rev. C.M. Keys officiated, nice day. Wen. July 13 Convened our 86th missionary at the home of Mrs. Levi Cram. We tied two comfortables, and partly quilted a quilt. Fri. July 15 I drove to Owosso, and took my little grandson home. He had been with us about three weeks. Sun. July 17 Very cool breeze from the north. Hub. Went to church. Thur. July 21 Mrs. Albert Conklin, Mrs. Chas, White, Ethelwyn Lemon and myself drove out to Brent Creek and purchased red-raspberries. We paid four dollars per bushel. We enjoyed our ride finely and at noon sat under an apple-tree and ate our dinner. Sun. July 24 Rained hard all the forenoon, we appreciated it immensely after seven weeks of day weather. Sun. July 31 Rev. S.J. Young filled the pulpit in the absence of Rev. Cheney. Fair congregation lovly day. Wen. Aug. 3 They were visited at Owosso, and the surrounding county with a terrible rain, hail and wind storm. Three barns and their contents were burned to the ground by lightning. Sun. Aug. 7 Husband went to church. Offully cool day. Tues. Aug. 9 I drove over to Wm. Malorys to see my neice and sister Olive. Soon after I returned home we were visited with a hard thunder storm. Wen. Aug. 10 I attended our 87th missionary meeting held at the pleasant home of Mr.s Hiram Bussell. Lovly day, large crowd in attendance. Wen. Aug. 10 Miss Annie Peterson and Joe Shuarie (my neighbor beet.weeders.) were married at the Catholic Church in Owosso. Father Shane? Slane officiating. Thur. Aug. 11 Sister Olive and daughter Erma, Mrs. Malory and three children were my guest all day. Olive and Erma remained all night. Next day Olive, Erma and I visited at sister Hannah all day. Fri. Aug. 12 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Malory and three children, son willie and wife, Mrs. Belle North and Miss Edith Wier were my evening guest. Belle and Edith remained all night and took their departure next morning for Owosso. Sun. Aug. 14 Rev. C.M. Keys filled the appointments as Rev. Cheney and wife had gone to conference. Thur. Aug. 18 Husband and I attended the funeral of Mrs. Nancy Goodwill Lamungon? Held at the home a large concourse of friends and neighbors, assembled to pay their last respects to one they dearly loved. The casket was completely bueried in beautiful flowers. Rev. Cheney assisted by Rev. Keys conducted the services. Sun. Aug. 21 George Galloway husband of Belle Hopson Galloway, died after only two days illness of pnewmonia. The sudden news came as great shock to the community. Thur. Aug. 25 Husband and I attended the county Sunday school pic-nic held at Corunna in McCardy park. About five hundred people were in attendance and despite the hard thunder shower in the forenoon we had a fairly good day and good time. The Sunday schools marched in line and the Wesleyan School carried off the banner as they were the largest school there. Sun. Aug. 28 Husband went to morning services. I was quite ill and could not go. A delightful day. Wen. Aug. 31 Edna Belle, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hopson, was united in marriage with Fayette Simpson of Chicago. Ilnoise. Fri. Sept. 2 Husband and I attended the Holiness mission, camp-meeting held in their beautiful grove on the hill south of Owosso. Sun. Sept. 4 We attended church. Rev. Cheney gave us a good sermon and a good class-meeting followed. Cloudy day with showers. Tues. Sept. 6 I went for a drive afternoon, called on sister Hannah and family. A lovly day. Sept 8 we had grain thrashers. Daughter Sarah Bowley called in the afternoon. Sat. Sept. 10 I drove to Owosso, took the trolly-car and went to son Rolla’s. Grandma’s Drain’s mind was very bad. A beautiful day. Sun. Sept. 11 We attended the morning services. Some of the Free Methodist were there. Wen. Sept. 14 Our 88th missionary meeting convened at the home of Mrs. James Warren. About thirty in attendance. Lovy day. Fri. Sept. 16 Our pastor, Rev. H.D. Cheney and wife were our guest to supper. After supper we all went over to S.J. Youngs to a musical entertainment given by Miss Ina Day to her pupils. It was a beautiful moon-light evening. Sun. Sept. 18 A dark, cold, cloudy day. Large audience at church. Wen. Sept. 21 Miss Jessie Frantz was united in marriage with Robert Alliton at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Frantz. Rev. C.C. Staffield officiated. Wen. Sept. 21 At the parsonage of the First Methodist Church of Owosso, Rev. G.W. Jennings, united in marriage Ira E. Farrly and Miss Carrie Collard. Thur. Sept. 22 I was the invited guest of Mrs. Chas. White to supper, Mrs. Fred Hickmott and three children of Owosso, were also her guest. Sun. Sept 25 Although cool and muddy a fair congregation at church. Tues. Sept. 27 Dr. Herbert T. White and Miss Jessie Augustine, were united in marriage at the home of the brides parents. Wen. Sept. 28 Mrs. Chas. White and I attended the ladies aid at the home of Mrs. Wm. Mallory. We sewed carpet rags for Mrs. Mallory. A fine dinner was served. Fri. Sept. 30 Mrs. Margaret Drain mother of Son Rolla’s wife passed away in the early morning. A demented mnd for several months, I spent the afternoon in the bereaved home which was sad in deed. Sat. Oct. 1 Two little girls, Lita Fitzpatrick and Olive Austin, were my pleasant little callers in the afternoon. Sun. Oct. 2 Husband and I attended our first quartly-meeting for the conference year held at the Hazelton w.M. Church. Rev. Haight of Ada Mich. Preached the word in the spirit. Mon. Oct. 9 Cool and muddy. Small audience at church. Two wagon loads of gypsies tented near by us Saturday night. Tues. Oct. 11 State game warden, J.C. Leggatt, called to get the name of Frank Peterson one of our beet-weeders, whom he arrested for shooting a fox-squirrel. It cost the young man 14.20c. Thur. Oct. 13 our 89th missionary meeting was held at the home of Mrs. James Hopson Jr. making work-boxes was the order of the day. A fine warm day was ours to enjoy. Sun. Oct. 17 Husband started drawing sugar-beets to the dump at West Haven. Very warm all the week until Friday morning. Turned colder. Sun. Oct. 23 A beautiful autum day. Large audience at church. Wen. Oct. 26 Mrs. Frank Corenta died very sudden at the home of Orrin Pearce on River road of heart failure. At the time her husband was in the hospital at Ann Arbor being treated for tuberculosis and was not able to come to the funeral. Tues. Nov. 1 Little Orville Cram four years old fell between the wheels of a wagon the wheels passing over him and was seriously hurt. Thur. Nov. 3 Daughter Bertha, Sister Olive and my neice Belle North, all of Owosso, came out and ate a chicken dinner with ,e. It was sister Olive fifthieth birth-day anniversary. Fri. Nov. 4 Mrs. Chas. White and I took a drive over to son Willies and spent about three hours with them. Sarahs mother and sister Meda were her guest also Mrs. Waldie a neighbor. Sun. Nov. 6 Though very cold a good congregation at church. Tommy Penkison of Owosso, was present and added his burning testimony. Mon. Nov. 7 Mr. Frank Corenta died at the hospital in Ann Arvor. The 8th Mrs. Chas. White was a pleasant caller. Wen. Nov. 9 Our 90th missionary meeting was pleasantly entertained at the parsonage Mrs. H.D. Cheney hostest. We quilted a quilt and made work boxes. Beautiful mild day. Sun. Nov. 13 Large audience at church, good sermon, grand class-meeting and nice day. 17th the Thursday night prayer meeting was held at our home. Sun. Nov. 20 A little grandson (Dauntless by name) was born to Rev. and Mrs. C.M. Keys. A beautiful day. Thur. Nov. 24 Thanksgiving day. A light rain all the afternoon, rained hard all the evening. We were invited to sister Olives to dinner but, on account of bad roads we did not go. Sun. Nov. 27 Stormed nearly all day. A cold wind blew hard. Wen. Nov. 30 Miss Frances Sanders was united in marriage with Mr. Bert Lemonjan? At the home of A.L. Chandler. Very cold evening. Sun. Dec. 18 Small audience at church. Reorganized Sunday school. Wen. Dec. 21 Miss Allie Vandelear was united in marriage with with Glen Cudney. Rev. Carlos Hanks of Owosso officiated. Thur. Dec. 22 Miss Lena Smith united in marriage with Ernest Clark at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Byron Smith. Rev. H.D. Cheney tied the nuptial knot. Sat. Dec. 24 Husband and I ate Christmas dinner with son Willie and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Emry Pearsall, Mr. and Mrs. Aurthur Fitzgerrald, and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mead and little son, were also their guest. Sun. Dec. 25 We went to church, had Christmas services, Rev. Cheney, Rev. C.M. Keys and S.J. Young took part in the service. Mr. Mead passed away in the morning. Sat.
