Mrs. Emma Bryant, widow of Edwin Bryant, aged 71 years, died Sunday evening at 10:45 at her home in Vernon. Mrs. Bryants maiden name was Emma Clark. She was born in Vernon township June 8, 1848 and was married to Mr. Bryant Sept 23, 1868. comming to the village of Vernon to reside at that time and has lived in the same house for the past 51 years. Mr. Bryant died about 10 years ago. She is survuved by one daughter, Mrs. WW Reed of Vernon and three sons, OC Bryant of Chicago, C.S. Bryant of LaCross, Wisconsin and CC Bryant who has not been heard from for the last 4 years. His home at that time was New Orleans, LA One brother, Riley Clark of Vernon also survives. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and 2:30 from the methodist Church of which she was a member. Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Additional Comments: She has a daughter Ruth Isbelle Bryant who preceeded her in death at age 18 and a son Dewey Bryant a well known artist and photographer in Vernon who died at age 42 years. The Dewey Bryant Photographic studio was in her home for many years. As of 2012 the home is still standing and occupied at the corner of Walnut and State St. in Vernon.
