Smith Family Funeral Homes, Feb. 14, 2011
Richard M. Griggs, age 72, of Beaverton, MI formerly of Corunna passed away
Monday, February 14, 2011 at Midland Medical Center, Midland, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel
Corunna, MI on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Kirk Brookins will
officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation
will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2011 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, February
17, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at the Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on May 16, 1938, the son of Norris and
Imogene (Bronson) Griggs. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School. Richard
married Rose Avery on January 22, 1958 in Grand Blanc, MI, and resided most of
his life in Corunna & Beaverton.

Richard retired from GM, working at Fisher Body and then Buick City both in
Flint. He loved fishing, hunting and living on the lake. But the joy of
Richard's life was spending time with his grandchildren. Richard served his
country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife Rose Griggs of Beaverton, MI, daughter Ronda and Bill
Smith of Corunna, MI, daughter Robin and Matthias Inman of Monroe, MI, son Rick
and Denise Griggs of Nunica, MI, son Roger and Gayle Griggs of St. Johns, MI, 15
grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, and many nieces and
nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
