[The Owosso Argus-Press [Shiawassee Co., MI] 13 May 1921, p9.]
Vernon, May 13--Joseph W. MORRICE[sic] died very suddenly at his home here 
Wednesday noon after an illness of about 24 hours.  Although his health had 
been failing for some time he apparently was as well as usual when he was 
taken with an acute attack of indigestion which at his advanced age, 82 years, 
he was unable to rally from.  He was a veteran of the civil war and one of the 
oldest residents of the county.  He is survived by his wife, one son, and 
three daughters.   It was very strange coincidence that his death should so 
closely follow that of his nearest neighbor for so many years, Frank DeHART.

In the obituary, his last name was incorrectly spelled as "MORRICE", but his name is actually spelled "MORRIS"--the newspaper made the error.
