Accompanying the body from New York were Miss Emily V. Mason of Washington, sister of the "boy governor," Mrs. Dorthea M. Wright of Newark, N.J., his daughter; E. H. Wright and Captain Mason Wright, grandsons; Wm. Wright Mason, grandsons; William Mason Wright, Jr., great grandson; and Stevens T. Mason, grand nephew. At the station here the party was met by Governor Warner and his staff , Mayor George P. Codd, and a number of other prominent citizens. The casket carrying the remains of the ex-governor was placed in a hearse and escorted by Company A, First Regiment, M.N.G., and a battalion of mounted police, taken to the armory of the Detroit Light Guard, of which Governor Mason was a one time a member. Addresses were given by Governor Warner, Mayor Codd, President C.M. Burton of the Michigan Pioneer and Historical society and several others. At the conclusion of the ceremonies the casket was taken to Capital Square park for burial.
