Ionia, Mi., July 1. - Former Chief Justice Allen B. Morse of the Michigan
Supreme Court died at his home here today.
Judge Morse, a veteran of the Civil war, sat on the supreme court bench from
1880-1892. During the following four years he was the United States counsul to
Glasgow. In 1822 he was a Democratic candidate for governor. At various times,
Mr. Morse was the prosecutor for Ionia county, mayor of this city and state
senator from this district. He was born in Ionia 82 years ago.
