Davis (picture) PORT HURON - Florence M. Davis, 98, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998 in her residence. She was born Aug. 4, 1900 in Lynn Twp., the daughter of the late John Miles and Ada May (Bailey) Green (formerly of Brown City) and was a life long area resident. She married James Elmer Davis in 1916. He died July 1, 1958. She was a long time member of the RLDS Church, formerly on Varney Street. She was a Red Cross Volunteer; a former Secretary and Vice President of J. E. Davis and Sons Company and a member of the Fields Society of the church. She spent her summer months at her home in Lexington. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vondah and John Spitzer of Perrysburg, Ohio; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great- great-grandchildren; her sister, Leila Seidell of Port Huron; her daughter-in- law, Marion Davis of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Delmar B. Davis and Willard E. Davis and her step-son, Roy J. Davis. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday on Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. The Elder Russell E. Loeding will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the RLDS Church Building Fund or the Graceland College Fund. Times Herald, Port Huron, St. Clair County, Michigan - December 12, 1998 dz
