Francek (picture) KENOCKEE TWP. - Shaye Christopher Francek, 22, of Kenockee Twp., died in an automobile accident with his close friend Robert Louk on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998 in Greenwood Twp. He is the son of Michael and Christine Furness Francek of Avoca and was born in Port Huron on Feb. 29, 1976. Shaye graduated in 1994 at Yale High School, served in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1994-1995 with an honorable medical discharge. He was attending St. Clair County Community College for drafting and design and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He was employed at American Tape in Marysville and was an outgoing hardworking person who enjoyed deer hunting and working on cars. Surviving in addition to his parents are his brothers, Shawn Michael and Kristi of Marysville, and Stefan Patrick of Avoca; his grandparents, Charles and Rita Francek of Avoca and Eileen Furness of Port Huron; and will be greatly missed by his little pal "Drew" and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceding his death was his grandfather, James Orville Furness (1986) and best friend, Justin Cameron (1997). Scripture services are 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Kaatz Funeral Home, Avoca. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett. Fr. Jasper Siranni, pastor, will officiate. Visiting hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to his family.
