Fort Gratiot Twp.-John L. Johnston, 73 of Fort Gratiot Township passed away 
Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2003 in the home of his Friends Melissa and Pat McConnell. He 
was born Nov. 26, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Army 
during World War II and the Korean conflict. He worked at St. Joseph's 
Hospital in Mount Clemens for 25 years before retiring. He attended St. 
Edward's on the Lake Catholic Church and was a member of the Immaculata 
Council 8274, Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed walking,being outdoors, 
trains, and playing the organ. He is survived by many firends including 
Melissa and Pat McConnell, Nicole Collins, and Chris and Irene Rudy all of 
FOrt Gratiot township, Donna and Gerry Conrad of Kimball Township, and Julie 
Defour of Clyde Township. a funreal Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. 
Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, In St. Edwards's on the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. 
Joseph Esper, pastor of the St. Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in 
Mount Hope Cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. by the Immaculata Council 
8274, Knights Of Columbus. Pallbearers will be Pat McConnell, Larry Lonsby, 
Rick Oliver, Art Isaac, Chris Rudy, Chris O'Conner
