Port Huron Times Herald, The - 14 Apr 1977
  Port Huron - Edward F. Kern, 80, of 18 Taylor St., died unexpectedly today 
in his home of natural causes.
  He was bron Oct. 3, 1896 in Graz, Austria and had lived here since 1909.
  Mr. Kern was employed by Mueller Brass Company until his retirement in 
1964.  He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
  He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Kern; three sons, Edward C. Kern, 
Bayport, Mich., and Francis L. and Charles R. Kern, both of Port Huron; nine 
grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph D. Kern.
  Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephen's Catholic Church.  
The Rev. Robert Wurm, pastor, will officiate.
  Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
  Remains are in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home, South Chapel, where visting 
hours are after 6 p.m. today.
  A Scriptural Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
  Memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart Fund.
