  Edward Kern
  Edward Charles Kern, 71, of Sebewaing died unexpectedly Sunday, July 4, 1993 
at Bay Medical Center in Bay City
  He was born Dec. 22, 1921 in Port Huron, son of the late Edward Frank Kern 
and Ann M. (Preininger) Kern.
  He married Helen A. Miller on Oct 19. 1956 in Traverse City, Michigan
  Mr. Kern was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army.  He was a 
member of Sebewaing Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4115.
  He was retired from Active Industries in Elkton.
  Surviving are his wife, Helen of Sebewaing; one daughter, Nancy of Arizona; 
step-daughter, Ronald (Lee) Harris of Vacaville, Calif.; a step-son Edward L. 
Crawford and his wife Julia of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Lucy 
Crawford of Traverse City; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-
grandchildren, and two half-brothers; Francis L. and Charles R. Kern, both of 
Port Huron.
  He was preced in death by a step son; Rex Crawford and a step-grandson.
  Cremation has taken place.  Services will be private.
  Arrangements were handled by the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home of Pigeon.
