Pauli, 78, of 214 North Mary St. died Thursday in River District Hospital, St. Clair after a long illness. He was born Aug. 3 1899, in Seymore Wisc., and had been a Marine City resident for many years. Mr. Pauli retired in 1960 as a city employee of marine City. He had been with the city for 10 years. He married Lucille Biskner. He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Alma Vardakis, and Joyce Verstraete of both of St. Clair Shores. Clarice Lumley, St. Clair Mildred Mitchell, Port Huron and Annamary Sharrow, Loretta Prange and Beatrice Peacock, all of Marine City; three sons, Ben Pauli, Port Huron, and Charles and Wayne Pauli, both of Marine City; a sister, Mrs. Louis Ness, Green Bay, Wisc.; a brother Jack Massell, Green Bay; 52 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bower-Rose Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. The Rev. James T. Shannon, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Remains are in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home where visiting hours are after 2 p.m. today. A. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
