Winifred Quilla (Pykiet) Straffon
February 12, 1912 - December 13, 1995
FORT GRATIOT - Winnie Hewitt Straffon, 83, died Wednesday, December 13, 1995 in 
Port Huron Hospital.  She was born February 12, 1912 in Elkville, Alberta Canada 
and has lived here since 1938.  She married John S. Mazure on November 8, 1940 
in Napoleon, Ohio.  He died December 3, 1954.  She married Raymond E. Straffon 
Sr. on May 16, 1987 in Marysville.  Mrs. Straffon was employed at Marwood Manor 
from 1965 to 1977 when she retired as administrator assistant to Mr. Lee Draper, 
Administrator.  She was a former member of the Quota Club.  She enjoyed her 
family and her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; one son, John S. (Elizabeth A.) Mazure 
of Port Huron; one step-son, Raymond E. "Skip" (Sally) Straffon of Port Huron; 
one stepdaughter, Judy (James) Becks of Munising; six granddaughters, Laura 
(Todd) Santo of Marysville, Rebecca Mazure of Port Huron, Shari (James Dewey) 
Straffon of Port Huron, Suzi Straffon of Ann Arbor, Patti Becks and Kathy Beck 
both of Munising; two grandsons, James and Edward Becks both of Munising; and 
two brothers and one sister in Kansas. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. 
The C. Paul Higdon, Mercy Hospital Chaplain will officiate.  Burial will be in 
Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visiting will be 2 to 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers: Todd 
Santo, Ray E. "Skip" Straffon, James Dewey, Dale Schoettle, Frank Switlicki, 
Stan Jurk.  
Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Hospice.  Published Times Herald Port 
Huron Thursday December 14, 1995.
