Edward E. Weiss December 29, 1914 - December 16, 1978 PORT HURON TOWNSHIP - Edward Weiss, 63, of 1399 Minnesota Road, was dead on arrival Saturday to Port Huron Hospital. He was born December 29, 1914 in Sherman Township, Huron County, Michigan, and had lived here since 1929. He married Anna T. (‘nee Visga) Nicefield July 12, 1946, in Port Huron. He attended schools in Huron County. Mr. Weiss was a 39 year employee of Morton Salt Company retiring January 1, 1977. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Christopher Church and American Legion Post 449. Marysville. He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Morrison, Port Huron; Mrs. Homer (Rose Ann) Haney, Topton. North Carolina and Mrs. William (Beatrice) Cowger, Marysville and Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Gerstenberger, Washington. Michigan; a son, Leo R. Nicefield, Port Huron; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Ida) Rollison and Mrs. Charles (Vera) Feets, both of Harbor Beach and a brother, Earl Weiss, Harbor Beach. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Christopher's Church. Rev. Joseph P. McElgunn, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Marysville Riverlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Military rites at graveside are under auspices of American Legion Post 449, Marysville. Pallbearers are Harvey and Dale Nicefield, William Cowger Jr., Robert Cowger, Donald Gerstenberger and Robert Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers are Leo Nicefield Jr., Dennis Nicefield, Thomas Jobbitt, Thomas Miller, Peter Dionne and Homer Haney Jr. Published Times Herald (Port Huron, Michigan) Monday December 18, 1978.
