Capt Van Camp sailed the Great Lakes from age 14 until his eyesight was giving 
him problems in 1919. He was the main person to get channel lights colored, a 
major improvement over white ones. He sailed the last Great Lake Schooner up 
the Maume River, the Anna P Grover. George and Nora were my husband's maternal 
grandparents. They had four daughters and three sons.
