   Mrs. Emma Emelia Wagner Ware was born in Colon township May 2, 1849, departed
from this life on March 8, 1918, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 6 days. 
She was untied in marriage with Mr. Levi Ware on February 24, 1867, and for a
little over 50 years shared the companionship together.
   To this happy union eight children were born, all of whom lived to manhood
and womanhood and are living today to mourn the loss of a mother.
   Mr. Ware was a patient sufferer for some years with diabetes, coupled with
the care and burden of caring for her husband in his declining years, which
undermined her vitality and sapped all of her physical forces, and hastened her
departure.  She was always a hard working woman, full of activities, and until 
at last her hands found something to do.
   In her earlier life she was a member of the Evangelical church south of town,
but later transferred her membership to the M.E. church of Colon, where she
continued her membership until her departure.
   After the death of her husband in July, she made her home with her son,
William, who did all in their power to make life pleasant for her.  She had but
two desires;  one, to go to see her children who are living in the far west, but
realizing that the journey would be too much of a burden to her, she gave up her
desire and then longed to depart from this life, and her desire was gratified.
   The funeral services were held from the M.E. church, conducted by her pastor
and assisted by Rev. Royer.
