JOSEPH, MI Thursday, Jan 28, 1909 PRE-NUPTIAL PARTY Among the delightful parties given in honor of Miss Gertrude Gray whose marriage to Mr. Ollie Fellows of Schoolcraft, takes place at high noon on Wednesday, February the 3rd, the affair of last evening given by the Misses May Barlow and Anna Hudson, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Brown, South State street, will be remembered as being one of the most delightful. An hour of the early evening was spent with needle work, and at the end of the sewing period several hemmed tea towels were presented to the bride-elect. A two course repast was served in the dining room, where a color scheme of pink and white prevailed. A boquet of pink tea roses was daintily arranged in the centre of the table, the vase resting on an exquisite doily of lace. Eight individual candlesticks containing pink tapers around which were wound tracings of smilax, lighted the room and completed the pretty effect. Places were found by dainty cards to which were attached tiny bags of rice. The favors were pink rosebuds. After making a happy wish to the guest of honor and blowing out the candles, the guests adjourned to the parlors where the remainder of the evening was spent with music. ST. JOSEPH DAILY PRESS, FEB. 4, 1909 FELLOWS-GRAY In the marriage and consequent removal from this city of Miss Gertrude Gray, St. Joseph will lose one of her prettiest young women and a host of regrets amply testifies her popularity. Miss Gray, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gray, was married at high noon Wednesday, Feb. 3, to Mr. Ollie Fellows of Schoolcraft, at the home of the bride's parents, Park street. The ceremony was performed in the front parlor before an embankment of palms, smilax and white carnations, decorations of the latter two prevailing throughout the house. Promptly at 12 o'clock Miss Anna Hudson, accompanied by Miss Marguerite Kreher on the piano, sang very sweetly, "I Love You Truly", by Carrie Jacobs Bond. Directly following the solo, Miss Hudson played Lohengrin's wedding march and Rev. A.H. Stoneman, followed by Mr. Fellows and his best man, Mr. Harry L. Murphy, came down the stairs and took their respective places. The bride was preceded by Miss Ruth Talmage, who attended Miss Gray directly as bridesmaid. The bride, who is exceptionally pretty, was gowned in a white net dress made over white silk with trimmings of lace and ribbon. She carried a beautiful boquet of white brides' roses. Miss Talmage wore an empire lavender dress with trimmings of white and carried a boquet of hyacinths and violets. Following congratulations which were bestowed upon Mr. and Mrs. Fellows amidst a shower of rice which was thrown by the many friends of the bride and groom, a two course repast was served by Mrs. Leigh Carlton, assisted by Misses Lottie Carlton and Marguerite Kreher. The bridal party was seated in the dining room and small tables were placed in the parlors for the other guests. A great deal of interest was taken in escorting Mr. and Mrs. Fellows to the depot, they being obliged to take their places in the large sleigh which had been ordered by one of the their thoughtful friends, a few of them seeing that they reached Michigan City in safety. The bride and groom took the 2:25 train to Chicago, where they will spend a few days before going to Schoolcraft where Mr. Fellows is engaged in the clothing business, and where a newly furnished home awaits the young couple. Mr. and Mrs. Fellows received a number of handsome wedding presents consisting of linens, silver, china and cut glass. Among the out of town guests who were present were Mrs. Arthur Fellows, mother of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Rush Fellows of Schoolcraft, and Messrs. Edward and Lee Flynn of Niles.
