He spent his youth in his native country, and learned his trade there. In March, 1881, he came to Akron, Mich. For a short time he worked by the month at his trade. Later he rented a shop and opened business, and has since bought the shop for his own use. He has also purchased a beautiful situation at Akron Station, and has now a pleasant dwelling and an increasing custom, requiring already hired help to accomplish the work demanded. On November 22, 1882, he was married to Miss Hattie Hover, of Akron. Their inviting home is situated immediately in view of the station and adjacent to the business blocks of the rising village.
