S. WHEAT, attorney, was born in the State of New York and came to Bay City, Michigan, with his father, Dr. W. E. Wheat, when he was nine years of age, and went to school there and was among the first class of scholars that graduated from the high school in that city. In 1876 his father and family removed to Caro, and he then read law in the office of Atwood & Atwood. In 1878 he was admitted to the liar. The same year he was appointed circuit court commissioner to fill a vacancy, and in the fall of the year was elected to that office. In 1880 was re-elected. Was married in 1879 and has three children, two of them twins.
