JUDD was born in the city of Brockville, Leeds County, Ontario, where he learned the trade of a watchmaker. In 1867 he came to Michigan and settled in Centerville, now Caro, where he opened a watchmaking and jewelry establishment, occupying the same store from that time until the present. When the Western Union Telegraph Company built a branch of their line to Caro he became the operator, and he and his son, W. C. Judd, have been in control of the office since 1874. Mr. Judd has served two years as township treasurer, two years as township clerk, and was president of the village for one year. Is married and has a family of three children living.
