RUNDEL was born in the township of Novi, Oakland County, Mich. He received his early education in the district schools of the adjoining township of Commerce. He learned the trade of a butcher at Holly, and was in business for himself at that place for some five years. He came to Caro in 1878 and went into the boot and shoe trade, continuing at it for about two years. He then sold out and was for a while engaged in business as a butcher. In 1882 he embarked in the grocery and provision trade. Is married.
