RICHARDSON is an Englishman by birth, having been born in Essex, Eng. In his early days he followed the sea for a living, visiting various parts of Europe, from Sebastopol in the Black Sea to Archangel in the northern part of Russia, also to some of the Portuguese and Spanish islands in the Atlantic ocean. During the Crimean war he was on a transport steamer, carrying troops, etc., to Sebastopol, at which place and Balaklava he remained some ten months. He left Hull, England, and emigrated to Canada, remaining in that country for some years. In 1869 he went to East Saginaw, Mich., remaining there fifteen years, driving a dray. In 1879 came to Caro and went into the wholesale lager beer trade, also being a retail liquor dealer. Is married and has two children.
