H. Van Wagoner & Co., proprietors of the Caro Iron Works. He was born and brought up in the town of Mayfield, Fulton County, N. Y. Came to Michigan in 1843. Kept a general store in Lapeer until 1878, when the removed to Caro. While in Lapeer County was one of the firm of Dodge & Van Dyke, who were extensively engaged in the manufacture of shingles. Served one term on the Lapeer school board and was clerk of the township of Marathon for three years. Married and has one child.
