Graves was born in Oregon Township, Lapeer County November 22, 1847. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Ellen G. Randall on February 21, 1871 in Washington, [Macomb Co] Michigan. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Addie McCool, Kalkaska; Mrs. Olive D'Arcy, Deford, Henry of Kalkaska and Charles of Kingston. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, two sons , two daughters, three brothers and three sisters besides a large number of other relatives. The funeral was held at the Baptist church [in Caro] Thursday January 9, 1919, at 10 o'clock, the Rev. E. Sutphen officiating. Interment was made in the Kingston Cemetery [Kingston Twp, Tuscola Co, MI]. Additional Comments: Valorus was the son of William S. Graves and Rhoda Ann (Elliott) Graves.
