Deceased was born in Delaware County, NY where she was married, after which she removed to Yarmouth, Elgin County Ontario, residing there about thirty years, subsequently coming, in 1864, to Michigan and settling in Lynn, St. Clair County. Five sons and an adopted duaghter survive her: Deram of Gladwin; Oscar W. of Toledo, OH; Minard D. and Albert, of Novesta; Dr. C.F. of Cass City and Mrs. Frank Brooks of Imlay City. She was an active member of the M.E. church of Canada for a number of years, but after coming to Michigan, united with the P.M. Church. She lived a consistant Christian life, dying in the hope of a glorious immortality. Her illness was long and painful, but she bore it with patience to the end, buoyed up by the hope that a joyous future awaited her, as she told the writer a few weeks before her death, she was going to the best country.
