Stephens Caro Died Tuesday, October 5, 1982 at St. Luke’s Hospital of Saginaw following a 1 ˝ year illness. She was 76. She was born Hazel English on Sept 4, 1906 in Otsego County, but lived most of her life in Tuscola County. She married Norman (Asell) Stephens on November 25, 1925 in Columbia Township. She is survived by her husband Norman, two sons, Robert Stephens of Caro and Howard Stephens of Akron; four daughters, Mrs. Tom (Edith) Knaggs of Caro, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Brink of Akron, Mrs. Chester (Norma) Kapa of Mayville, and Mrs. Robert (Velma Jean) Burkhardt of Caro; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is surved by a brother, Everett English of Akron and a sister Mrs. Les (Marvel) Spark of Boyne Falls. One daughter, Ruby Elaine, twin of Robert, died at birth. One sister Erma Thompson also preceded her in death. Funeral services were 3 pm Friday at Collon Funeral Home of Caro with Rev. Allen Stebbins officiating. Burial was in the Caro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
