Oscar Tong, 61 died unexpectedly Friday at Marquette.
Mr. Tong was born in Dayton Township in December 1888, the son of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Albert Sidney Tong.  

He married Jean Durant on Christmas Eve 1918.  They lived in Mt. Clemons and 
Detroit and then moved to Marquette where he was engaged in carpenter work.

About 1 1/2 years ago, they went to Hawthorne California where they bought a 
home.  Last April, they returned to Marquette where they completed business 
transactions and were about ready to return to California, when he was stricken 
with a heart ailment and died at 1 o'clock.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three nieces, Mrs. May Busc (sic) of 
Clarkston and the twins, Sophia and Sarah List of Pontiac Michigan.  Funeral 
services were held at the Swanson funeral home in Marquette, Saturday afternoon 
with burial at the Marquette Cemetery.
