OF John & Elizabeth DEITZ passed _________ [illegible] on Feb. 14 [?] 1877 Aged 11 mons. Tinnie Deitz (April 1, 1876 – February 14, 1877) was the daughter of John Deitz and his second wife Elizabeth (Mallory) Deitz. Tinnie is buried in Block 1, Lot 41 of Ellington Cemetery. Also buried on this lot are her father John Deitz, her father’s first wife Melvina (Mallory) Deitz, her mother Elizabeth (Mallory) Deitz, and her half brother Damon S. Deitz. The top of the family monument has fallen from its base and is lying on one of its sides so any inscription that may be on that side is not visible. Each of the other three sides contains an inscription; one for John’s wife Melvina, one for his wife Elizabeth, and this one for his daughter Tinnie. Note: Excerpt from The New Era (Caro, Michigan newspaper), May 15, 1891, Page 5, col. 1: “Another nice monument was placed in the Ellington Cemetery by John Deitz to mark the resting place of his first and second wives and little daughter.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/tuscola/photos/tombstones/ellingtontownshi/deitz86738nph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
