Picture taken at the dedication ceremony during The Hubbell Family Historical Society National Reunion, June 21, 2007. Charles Brewster Hubbell was born in Derby, CT 26 June 1811. He was a veteran of the Indian wars 1832 to 1837, serving under Col. Zachary Taylor in Wisconsin and Florida. He also was a veteran of Co. E, 153rd New York Volunteer Infantry during the Civil war 1i 1862 to 1863. He came to Genesee County Michigan in 1868, where he worked in a sawmill manufacturing shingles, located in Forest Twp, Genesee Co. He died 30 September 1872. He was Survived by his wife, Ann A. Mettler Hubbell and their seven children. Additional Comments: I am sending by separate e-mail the picture of the front of the new headstone. We are uncertain if he died in Forest Twp of Genesee Co at the home of his daughter, Julia, or in Millington Twp of Tuscola Co. at the home of his son, John.
