Theron Wilson Atwood, Sr. (January 3, 1854 – September 27, 1917) and his wife 
Clara Ellen (Gibbs) Atwood (May 23, 1857 – February 16, 1918) are interred in 
this family mausoleum in the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro, 
Michigan.  Theron was the son of Henry Purinton Atwood and Emily (Wilson) 
Atwood, and Clara was the daughter of Melvin Gibbs and his second wife 
Clarissa (Crowell) Gibbs.  Theron and Clara married on September 28, 1875.  
They had eight children:

Newton Blain Atwood, who married Harriet C. Truesdell;
Alice A. “Allie” Atwood, who first married William Walstein Failing and later 
married Alfred Jacob Boergert;
Merrill G. Atwood, who married Mildred “Nina” Smith;
Adeline Atwood, who married Oliver Carl “Carl” Palmer;
Florence C. Atwood, who married Clarence Roy Myers;
Theron Wilson Atwood, Jr., who married Margaret Duffy;
Helen Atwood, who married George Shafer, Sr.; and
Frank Ellet “Ellet” Atwood, who married Fern Bliss.
