GIBBS JAN. 29, 1883 APR. 5, 1951 Ray Edgar Gibbs was the son of William Melvin “Mellie” Gibbs and Etta (Ross) Gibbs. Ray’s first wife was Alma (Rutherford) Gibbs (1884 - 1928). Ray and Alma had four children: Olin V. Gibbs (January 29, 1905 – June 1956), Melvin B. Gibbs (1908 – April 30, 1952), Ashton G. Gibbs (July 15, 1912 – November 17, 1944), and Maurice R. Gibbs (April 10, 1919 – September 18, 1944). Ray’s second wife was Myrle (Turner) Gibbs (August 28, 1894 – May 4, 1969), daughter of Barnard and Emily (Smith) Turner. Ray and Myrle had no children. After Ray’s death, Myrle married Arthur E. Karr (January 3, 1878 - May 15, 1966), son of Albert and Mary Jane (Burns) Karr. Arthur’s first wife was Minnie (Compton) Karr. Myrle is buried next to her first husband Ray E. Gibbs.
