In about 1849 Margaret emigrated from Ireland to New York with her parents and her younger brother William, and the family settled in Sterling, Cayuga County, New York. In 1853 Margaret married Luman Larrabee (August 15, 1831 – June 6, 1908), and they settled in Oswego Township, Oswego County, New York. Sometime between 1865 and 1870 Luman and Margaret Larrabee moved to Michigan and settled in Juniata Township, Tuscola County, where they lived for the rest of their lives. Luman and Margaret had ten children: Horace, Jane, Lewis, William J., Luman, Jr., Samuel, Mary, Burton, Edward Clyde, and George. The first six children were born in Oswego Township, Oswego County, New York, and the last four were born in Tuscola County, Michigan. All of the children remained in Tuscola County except for Edward, who later re-settled in Albion, Orleans County, New York. There are inscriptions on two sides of this obelisk—one for Margaret and one for Margaret and Luman’s son Bert--but both of them are nearly illegible. Margaret’s inscription reads “Margaret, Wife of L. Larrabee, Died May 19, 1882, Aged 45 years”. Margaret (Flack) Larrabee's grave is in Block A, Sec. 82. Also buried on this lot are Margaret's husband Luman Larrabee and their sons William J., Bert L., and George C. Larrabee. Luman Larrabee re-married twice after Margaret’s death in 1882. Luman’s second wife was Calista June (Giles) Smith (January 2, 1830 – December 27, 1883), and his third wife was Charlotte S. (Rice) Withey (June 1831 – March 25, 1913).
