She married David Grow Slafter (January 1, 1817 – 1908), a son of John and Persis (Grow) Slafter. David and Ann had no children of their own, but adopted an orphan, the son of James Morgan and Antoinette (Fry) Baldwin. The Baldwins, who had three children, had settled in Tuscola County in the early 1850s. Once the adoption procedure was finalized, the boy’s name was Morgan Baldwin Slafter. David and Ann also raised a girl, Lottie M. Slafter, whom they did not adopt.
