Carrie M. (Smith) Slafter (June 16, 1858 – 1936) was the daughter of Jacob and 
Lovina Smith of Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York.   Carrie married Morgan 
Baldwin Slafter (May 26, 1855 – January 1916), the adopted son of David Grow 
Slafter and Ann Calista (Lucas) Slafter.  Morgan and Carrie had no children.

Carrie’s grave marker is on the David Grow Slafter family lot in Block M, Sec 
14 where her husband Morgan B. Slafter and his adoptive parents, David G. and 
Ann (Lucas) Slafter are buried.  There is a large Slafter family monument on 
the lot.
