The John Slafter Family Monument has the following inscription on the left 
side:

On the right side of the monument is the following inscription:

PERSIS GROW
WIFE OF JOHN SLAFTER
BORN AT HARTLAND, VT.
JUNE 17, A.D. 1783
DIED
AT TUSCOLA MICH.
NOV. 29, A.D. 1877
