AT TUSCOLA MICH.
NOV. 29, A.D. 1877
	
Persis (Grow) Slafter (June 17, 1783 – November 29, 1877) was the daughter of 
Rev. Timothy and Phalle (Richardson) Grow.  Persis married John Slafter 
(October 31, 1776 – November 21, 1856), the son of John Slafter and his first 
wife Elizabeth (Hovey) Slafter.  John and Persis had nine children:  Phalle 
R., who married Naham N. Wilson; William, who first married Roisa H. Johnson 
and later married Mary P. (Sutherland) Waters; Persis G., who first married 
Austin Hutchinson and later married John Marsh; Elizabeth H., who died at the 
age of two years; John F., who never married; David G., who married Ann 
Calista Lucas; Almina L., who married Paschal Richardson; A. Judson, who 
married the widow Fannie (Rogers) Tice; and Augusta M. Slafter, who married 
Oliver P. Tobey.
