I do hereby certify that on the 28th day of Feb AD 1855 at the residence of D.G. Slafter 
in the township of Tuscola and State of Michigan Albert Slafter of the township of Vienna, 
Genesee Co. Mich. and Ruth A. Smith of the township of Tuscola, Mich, to me personally known 
to be the persons describedin this certificate were by me joined together with their mutual 
consent in the bonds of wedlock, first ascertaining that the said parties could lawfully 
contract said marriage, which ceremony took place in the presence of A.C. Slafter & George Gillet.
