This may certify that Leonard Smith of the Township of Fairgrove, County of Tuscola 
and the State of Michigan aged Forty two years, and Mary Luce of the place aforesaid 
aged thirty three years were joined together in holy matrimony by me in Faigrove on 
Thursday the twenty sixth? day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight 
hundred and fifty nine.
