Otsego Union   January 11, 1940
Alice Jane Leighton, 77 passed away at her home in Trowbridge Sunday, January 
7.  She was the widow of Andrew Leighton who passed away sixteen years ago.  
She was born in Rochester, New York, July 3, 1862, to Thomas and Hannah 
Richards.  To this union were born five children, Harvey at home, Lizzie of 
Alamo, Alvin and Otis of Otsego, a daughter who died in infancy.  Other 
survivors are one sister, Elizabeth Adsit of Pinegrove and one brother, Thomas 
Richards of Alamo and four grandchildren.  Funeral services were held from the 
Harvey Leighton home at 2 o'clock Tuesday with burial in the Kendall 
Cemetery.  Rev. I.W. Minor officiated and Mr. C.Clay Benson had charge.
