He was a passenger in a car involved in an accident that occurred Saturday night, October 25th at about 11 P.M. Mundt was a 1968 graduate of Hartford High School. He joined the Navy while still in high school and went on active duty in September,1968, after completing recruit training at Great Lakes, IL. He then attended school at Memphis, Tenn., and was a structural Mechanic. He had recently been promoted to seaman third class. Mundt is survived by his parents; a brother, Mylen Mundt, Jr., serving in the Navy on the USS Ranger in the Pacific; a grandfather, Edward Mundt of Benton Harbor Mi.; an uncle; two aunts and several cousins. The rosary was recited Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Calvin Funeral home at Hartford. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic church followed by interment at Keeler Cemetery, Van Buren, Michigan.
