Age 89, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Superior Woods following an 
extended illness. She was born July 11, 1916 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of 
Fred and Cora (Whittaker) Howlett. On June 14, 1941, she married Loyd Reed in 
Ypsilanti and he preceded her in death June 9, 2005. Lucy spent her life 
caring for her family and volunteering in the community. She loved baking, 
canning and sewing. Survivors include- two children, Larry of Ypsilanti and 
Linda (Dean) Taylor of Ypsilanti; foster daughter, Mary Anne Maxwell of 
Farmington Hills; and one grandson, Todd Taylor of Ypsilanti. In addition to 
her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Harold and 
Charles and two sisters, Mary Howlett and Irene Estleman. The funeral service 
will be 11-00 A.M. Thursday, February 9, 2006 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore 
Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions may be 
made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral 
home where the family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday and 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
