Ypsilanti, Ml Age 85, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Arbor Hospice Residence following a short illness. He was born December 9, 1919 in Ypsilanti, the son of Fred and Nellie (Stafford) Reed. On June 14, 1941, he married Lucy Howlett in Ypsilanti and she survives. Mr. Reed worked for three years at the Bomber Plant, building the B-24 bomber. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Reed was employed by Ford Motor Company for 42 1/2 years, 2 retiring from the Rawsonville plant in 1979. Following retirement, he spent his time farming and gardening. In addition to his loving wife of almost 64 years, survivors include two children, Larry of Ypsilanti and Linda (Dean) Taylor of Ypsilanti; foster daughter, Mary Anne Maxwell of Farmington Hills, MI; one sister, Dorothy Jajuga of Utah. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Jude's. Envelopes are avail¬able at the funeral home where the family will receive grandson, Todd Taylor of Ypsilanti; and friends 5-8 P.M. Sunday, 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. Monday.
